A broadcaster used the expression “ a sliding doors” moment on tv during the Olympics. Sliding Doors is a movie. What does the phrase refer to? The term "sliding doors moment" means a seemingly inconsequential moment that nonetheless alter the trajectory of future events. From what I remember in the movie Gwynth Paltrow either caught a tube train - or missed it - sparking different outcomes and the title for the movie "Sliding Doors"

From what I remember in the movie Gwynth Paltrow either caught a tube train - or missed it - sparking different outcomes. She also did a killer British accent!
