You’re going to have egg on your face 🤣 Members booking has hardly been a massive rush Some of the performances haven’t sold even half of what was available to members since yesterday Do you just not like Blanchett or something? You seem very against this production already.

You seem very against this production already. She is a very good actress I have seen most of her stage performances both here and overseas I just think there has been a lack of perspective Most people walking about the street Probably don’t know who she is Nor can they name 3 films she has appeared in That’s all There are MANY more interesting and exciting names Added to this NONE of her stage appearances have been particularly lauded nor raved about to the extent anyone needs to pay £195 for them Add to this a hugely pretentious and self indulgent director

A bizarre take.
I’m sure if asked, many people couldn’t reel off 3 films starring Nicole Kidman…. Emma Stone… Julianne Moore… Viola Davis… so really don’t understand your point at all.
Maybe if you purely want someone very famous, wait for Madonna to bring her acting talents to the stage again.
Who are the MANY exciting people you talk of ?

I’m actually keen on the cast, not so keen on The Seagull. It’s been produced recently and I can think of better Ibsen plays I’d rather see Cate Blanchett perform. I’ve gone for a bargain ticket, and hope the performances are sensational.

I think most could name Nicole and Emma movies. They have been in big box office films. Cate is bit more of a niche name in comparison. Certainly in terms of motivating people to be excited enough to pay big money to see her (outside those who follow cinema more widely, and theatre)

I bought tickets for the preview, would Cate and the main cast be in them too?
Apparently, the barbican ticketing system has crashed due to strong demand. I'd tried to get back in to get tickets on a different date, I was put on the waiting list with 4000 other people, and now it's not even moving.
Anyone facing the same issues?
Edit: I refreshed and now it's 7000 people in the queue, and it's still not moving. Having regrets about buying for the preview now. Would Cate be in them?

Website froze and crashed a couple of times but got some of the £20 tickets before the site seemed to properly crash.

I got in at 714 in the queue which I thought wasn't too bad but I've been stuck at 172 for a while now. Assume they've frozen it but hopefully not to jack up the prices by the time I get in. Just thought I'd check in to make sure everyone else was frozen too?

For someone who isn’t popular or known by anyone- according to dear Parsley- how interesting the website crashes due to demand and there are now 12k people queuing for tickets.

Website froze and crashed a couple of times but got some of the £20 tickets before the site seemed to properly crash. Lucky you. Yeah very! Me and a friend were both trying, she got in first (124 in the queue) but it froze on her, I got in (330 in the queue) but as I went to check out mine crashed - but luckily hers decided to work again. Then the website seemed to go kaput.

Then the website seemed to go kaput. Yeah, I was surprised. It seemed to be working so well up until now. I'm glad you got your tickets though.

Weird flex on Cate Blanchett in this thread given she's won two oscars, four baftas and four golden globes, and she's been in some high profile franchises as mentioned - LOTR/The Hobbit, Thor, Indiana Jones, Oceans, etc, as well as a lot of critically acclaimed films. Whether people like or dislike those films is by the by, but she's hardly niche and unknown.

Not sure the software can randomly order the entire number waiting without first knowing the total waiting.

Weird that the general sale was more busy than the Wessex Grove sale
