I was looking at booking a room at one of the Premier Inn Hubs, and because I’ve left it late it says standard rooms are sold out but they can offer an accessible room.
I don’t have any access requirements, but that makes it sound like I could still book that room? Is that right? Do they allow that?

I got an accessible room at the Goodge Street one a few weeks ago as that's all they had left. Same price as the tiny standard rooms there but about a third bigger.

These rooms are offered because companies have to under the Equality Act. However, unlike with, say, a theatre booking there is no access scheme so anyone can book the room. It does mean that, if a wheelchair bound person later wants it, they can't. The priority is to rent the room. The company is kind of/sort of covered under the law because of the fact of having the room available in the first place. I almost revisited this discussion at the Donmar last night because there is an anomaly with how some schemes work in practice. Imo, an access place is an access place but because wheelchair-bound disabled are outnumbered by non wheelchair disabled (about 1 : 9), and you need a wheelchair to book those specific places, they often go unused. I would argue they could become available to non-wheelchair disabled a day before or a few hours before a performance, which means they can sell two additional positions (the carer position, as well).
So, in this situation, I would argue there should be an access scheme and also a period for wheelchair-bound disabled to book an access room, but the company should be allowed to open it up to the general public close to the due date - and make all of that clear on the web page
