Juliet Stevenson is doing Wings at the Young Vic in September so I assume she's not reprising the role in the West End or it's not opening until say November or December.

I think JS had previously tweeted that the transfer of Mary Stuart would be in Jan 2018.

I think JS had previously tweeted that the transfer of Mary Stuart would be in Jan 2018. Given that's seven months away, seems odd to announce a transfer in a few days time.

I hope that it transfers as I really loved this production but agree it seems too early to announce a transfer, maybe a tour? I also feel they maybe announcing their autumn season and I hope American psycho is one as I really want to see it and they said they wanted to bring it back to London but I would also like to see any interning musical at the almeida.

A google search has revealed a ticketing company I'd never heard of saying that this will be on at the Duke of York's between Sat 13th Jan - Sat 31st March 2018. Guess we'll find out tomorrow if it's accurate or not!

If correct and I've no reason to doubt it then that would mean another play could go into the Duke of York's post OLOPS closing ( early September ) and this opening....,

What an ingenious master stroke by Rupert Goold in appointing Robert Icke as Associate Director, by which I mean he is having tremendous success with all these West End transfers and Broadway.
Nice gap between Almeida run and West End, just enough to make me want to see it again.
Tremendous acting was achieved at the Almeida, hopefully they keep both leads.

Hopefully I'll actually finally get to see it, as I was booked for a cancelled date last time.[/quote]
It's a terrific production with wonderful leading performances. Highly recommended.

Great that this getting a WE transfer, I loved it. Would love to see it again the 'other way round' so hope that they do the same trick as the Almeida on matinee days where the evening performance is the converse of the matinee (to keep the actors rehearsed in both roles). That way if I keep my ear to the ground I might be able to pick up a late ticket for Lea as Elizabeth.,., or maybe I'll just take my chances again, it was that good.

I hope they announce the tour cast before the West End run takes place. It's coming to my local theatre so if it'll be the same cast then I can wait & see it there, if not then I may try to see it in London.

Yes hopefully you're right Jon, I'd love the latest revival of Abigail's Party to get a WE run
