Aren't the first shows on a Saturday always cancelled at the Donmar and they just start on the Monday?
It's a weird tactic that they just continually do but it always happens 😂

Good grief I hope not. I’m at a mid week matinee which will have it finishing at 1750hrs. I’m at the NT that evening, with a 1830hrs start. OMG barely time to get there, grab a drink and use the loo! I’ll be sending my ticket back if it’s really that long a running time.

I would imagine they'll be aiming to cut that down before opening night.

Tory cuts to the running time (& NHS) have not been factored in yet.
(Although the full cut they gave the show on Saturday night was said to be “too severe” by some backbenchers)

(Although the full cut they gave the show on Saturday night was said to be “too severe” by some backbenchers) There haven't been any Tory cuts to the NHS. While they have been in power NHS spending in real terms, that is after inflation, is up by 20% and it is also up in real terms on a per capita basis too. It is the 5th best funded health service in the world. I think there was only a single year (under Cameron/Osborne) when NHS funding increased only by inflation rather than exceeding it. I'm sure all the various Nye Bevan plays will point out this common misapprehension about the NHS.

Words, no data. No mention of covid, population growth, aging population, etc.
The Office for National Statistics disagrees with you. This section is interesting, it put the UK about 19th now (scroll a little, it is a chart):
3. How much does the UK spend on healthcare compared with its international peers?
Also, the BMA has a vested interest. Always interested in what the professionals say:
"Between 2009/10 and 2021/22, the cumulative underspend – the difference between what funding would have been if historical growth rates had been maintained, and what was actually provided – reached £322 billion in real terms."
Much, though not all, of the NHS's woes come from perpetual understaffing, now perpetually maintained at around 9% by perpetual underpaying. In this way, it encourages - forces - qualified staff to work in the private sector. I wonder if things might look rosier for those with private insurance.

Unless I'm missing it I think they've removed run time from the page again?
