Anyone know anymore about a scene at the Soho theatre, an Irish comedian screaming at an Israeli to get out of his show?

sohotheatre.com/events/paul-currie-shtoom/This guy. Apparently a couple wwere annoyed at him bringing a Palestinian flag on stage so he told them to f×ck off. I dont know the veracity of this as I wasn't there and haven't seen any footage though.

That sounds pretty horrible. Statement from the Soho Theatre
And this comment from someone else:
The comedian apparently singled out a guy who was Jewish who did not join in the enforced standing ovation and when he was ordered to leave (and a few others left in sympathy) they were shouted at.

Reading accounts of the behaviour of the rest of the audience during this incident, the expression "Nuremberg fodder" comes to mind.

I hope that any other venues, who have booked this particular person, are urgently reviewing whether is is appropriate to allow him to perform again
Hate speech isn't part of comedy. You can't excuse away this sort of behaviour.
Soho Theatre could have done nothing to prevent this. But other venues can decide whether they want to platform such a person
But it is worrying how easily antisemitic behaviour is just accepted.

Three examples from the past few days alone.

I still would not chant at or harass a Russian person living in London though, just because they happened to be in the audience of a show I was attending.

I have close Russian friends who I most certainly have not cancelled, although I refuse to accept Putin apologists despite the greyness of some of the issues preceding the invasion, but I was under the impression on this board people were allowed to make comments without being personally insulted. Clearly the times are changing and not necessarily for the better.

Wasnt Russia cancelled from Eurovision? YES YOU ARE ALL HYPOCRITES…. The opera singer was "cancelled" in Prague wasn't she ? They've got a bit of history with Russia haven't they. And the UK doesn't run Eurovision. And I think you'll find London hasn't cancelled Russian culture because I've got tickets for Uncle Vanya at the Orange Tree. So all we're left with on your charge sheet is that London has cancelled Russian vodka. Can't say I'm that bothered about that. On the other hand we have someone on stage in London with assorted audience members shouting at two Jewish audience members to get out of the theatre. I am bothered about that, and you should be too. Are you ?

Oh and incidentally the comedian concerned in addition to parading a Palestinian flag at the end of his set also brought in a Ukrainian flag to show his support for them. You’re right behind that too ?

Regarding boycotts or bans by such organisations as Eurovision etc, I personally think that there's a difference between an organised political statement by an official body and harassing random individuals in public as has happened here.
