That looks like good value, the tickets I've bought on TodayTix for the same price tend to be near the back of the stalls or three or four rows back in the dress circle so you've "netted a bargain" to quote the kids. If you are gonna be a bit off to one side that's the better side to be on too because of the design of the set.

I'm praying that this finds a permanent London home after Toronto cos I can't get to it again before closing, and I need to see it again. Just the sort of bombastic loudness to boost my flagging psyche.

Saw this at the weekend.

I had a really fun and enjoyable evening, whilst spending a lot of time thinking ‘What am I watching?!?!?!’

I love Jim Steinman’s music and I thought the singing was fabulous. I thought the staging was also spectacular, so I loved seeing all these iconic songs performed so dramatically. “Bat Out of Hell” was brilliant. I loved the projections (except for a couple of numbers where they hid the live action). I thought “Paradise at the Dashboard Light” was bonkers but hilarious.

I thought the choreography was truly awful though – definitely the lowlight for me. 


The plot seemed to be a weird mash-up of We Will Rock You, Urinetown and Peter Pan.

I had a blast watching it, but intelligent it is not!

Who can say? If it doesn't sound like your ☕️ maybe give it the swerve because it is as big, brash & nonsensical as people have said. There is however, a perverse enjoyment to be had in it's size, volume and the vast array of talent on stage. No amount of awful dancing or p£ssed up middle aged divorcees on an awayday should take that away from you.

Very similar thoughts from yesterdays (tuesday) performance. I am only really familiar with the very obvious Meatloaf songs, so I was totally numb to all the references to lyrics in the script throughout that all the meatloaf fans chuckled at throughout showing signs of recognition. Some of these references made the script very weird I thought and seemed to be included for inclusions sake. As many people here have said, the book is terrible and one of the weakest part of the show. The physical production saves the show and without a very strong staging this show would not have worked at all.

I really liked distorted perspective in the set design and it really worked in this show, especially for Ravens bedroom etc, when it stretched forward to fill the main stage space. 

Very strong singers but bat sh*t crazy choreography. Almost as weird as the choreography for Open Air Regents Park's JCS - Heaven on their Minds. Far too 'interpretive' for my liking and bordering on distracting.

Sat in the Center Stalls row C, there weren't too many fans in my sightline disrupting but one woman front row, aisle seat far too inebriated was getting a bit carried away dancing and waving arms.

Im a really big fan of shows 'setting the scene' and loved that with the imposing thrust set there was a soundtrack setting the ambience for the show whilst the house was open. It really helped create the right atmosphere. I really dislike sitting in a theatre starting at a blank cloth or dull curtain - More musicals should do this.

Once was enough, but really glad I got the chance to see this before it closes. 

Brilliantly bonkers sums up my description. Plus loud, very loud. Clearly an audience pleaser. Screaming at the end was more deafening than watching Mo winning last Friday.

Not sure who the understudy was playing Falco tonight but very impressive.

I would definitely recommend sitting down at the very front in the centre. Was in Row B. Row A fine but if smaller may find you are looking at one of the surround speakers placed along front bar. Very low stage so easy to see everything. Plus the rear scenes don't feel quite so far away.

Am going to see this again on Saturday (matinee). From what I understand, Ben Purkiss will be on as Strat. Has anyone seen both Ben and Andrew Polec? How do they compare?

Are they taking bottles of water off people as they go in still?

I think I saw on twitter that Ruben Van Keer, who is currently the cover for Strat after the alternate (Ben Purkiss), is leaving the show after the London engagement and not going to Toronto. This guy must be his replacement.
