When I looked earlier at the ticket sales for tonight, a Mandy Gonzalez performance, there was a lot of availability. And still quite a lot remaining now, just four hours before curtain up. Also looks like they’ve closed the balcony. And you’re surprised?! No. Just an observation following chernjam‘s comment re Mandy Gonzalez above. |

Yeah I don't think Mandy is as well known here as Rachel was in the West End...
Plus, remember London was a limited 16 week run, as this is selling at least till July and Nicole should fill in those seats the other 7 nights. It's a shame because the production is amazing as it is. But to be honest, I'm already planning on going back and would be looking to see Nicole again.

Happy to report that Nicole has dialled the crazy up even further and all of the self-referential gags are even more obvious. All of the rolling around on the floor stuff feels a lot more a part of the whole breakdown, rather than a bit of finger snapping & zee-ing about. She’s clearly unwell and it all adds to the ‘Norma as victim as much as Joe’ viewpoint. The phone call to Betty also reinforces this. Just a slight tone shift, but it just feels more judgemental of Joe (not just laugh at the funny mad woman).

New interview to Broadway.com “I haven’t seen the show” Whaaat? You didn’t watch a Rachel show or a Mandy show to better explore the piece? That’s a pair of cojones on her to admit that! They were doing a tech cover run of SB (the song) yesterday when we went past the theatre with all the outside business, so it isn’t like there haven’t been opportunities to see elements of it. |

They were doing a tech cover run of SB (the song) yesterday when we went past the theatre with all the outside business, so it isn’t like there haven’t been opportunities to see elements of it. I get what you’re saying but I also feel like it may feel different and possibly not helpful to her creative process (or anyone’s) to take yourself out of it and watch someone else do the same role when you’re as attuned to it and perhaps even to see the show from a very different perspective. I’ve certainly talked to actors who have said as much (and who really appreciated their understudies)… |

I have a boring seat question for anyone who has seen this in NY from the front stalls.
I'm still waiting to buy tickets for March. But as before, it looks like very few seats have been sold, yet huge amounts of seats in centre front stalls are still off sale. I've been watching sales the last few weeks to see if prices jumped up after the opening night reviews and album release.
Anyway, my question is, does anyone know what the front row of the stalls is like in this theatre for this show? I'm trying to decide whether it's better to just pay the premium package for seats in the second or third row (centre stalls) now. Especially if the view from front row is not great, and at risk of coming on sale at a higher price.

But paying an extra $100 for a pre-show glass of champagne in a lounge doesn't really excite me. OFF-TOPIC: danb , you mentioned in another thread that you saw Hamilton on Broadway last week. Someone I'm going to NYC with really wants to see it on Broadway in March (they've seen it in London before). How easy was it to get tickets on the day (I think you said that's what you did)? Was it discounted, or just full price tickets/cancellations? |

The view is perfect. The stage is pretty much eye level so it never felt as though I was having to look up. My only issue was that the leg room was very, very tight. I had an aisle seat for one of the shows and ended up switching with the guy next to me who was much larger and was clearly struggling throughout Act I. The premium package would not be worth it. There didn't seem to be much of a rake in the stalls and a few people behind me really struggled with a few taller people sat in the front row. My front row seats were all much cheaper than the premium ones when they eventually came on sale (by around $100). I deliberately held out and when they did go on sale, the premium ones were still available too. |

The boxes were just the cheapest available option. I think it was still about $150 each. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world though. It just sounded so fluid being performed by actual Americans rather than the accents of questionable quality we get over here. |

Some days the back rows of the rear Mezz are only $112. That is the lowest ticket price outside of winning the $10 lottery seats on the Hamilton website.
