That's how I remember it, it was so bad a review, when the reviewer says that ' my vagina tried to leave the theatre unaided' yes it was in the Guardian, no it wasn't Michael Billington.
Who equally wrote a terrible review for Whistle Down The Winds.
The bad ones normally stay with you.

Don't know the answer, but I am putting forward a motion to the op of the quiz questions thread officially banning anyone who uses Google from taking part in this thread, again. Ever.

I'm guilty of googling (not just the answer but my question, to make sure I got the details straight) - please don't ban me! I promise I won't Google-and-answer, but I love to "play along at home." I always learn something new!

Might I humbly suggest some rules for the game:
1. Person asking the question can decide whether googling is acceptable; everyone answering is on the honor system to follow said person's wishes.
2. Person asking the question shall decide whether an answer is correct -- we shouldn't decide someone's answer is right or wrong based on our own evidence. At the same time, the person asking the question is obligated to both (a) stick around the thread long enough to confirm or reject an answer; and (b) rephrase if there was a misunderstanding which might lead to a mistaken answer.
3. If there are no correct answers within, say, 12 hours (or 24 -- but nothing less than 12 because we're in different time zones), the person asking the question shall give a hint. And if another 12 (or 24) hours go by, another hint shall be offered. This shall continue until someone gets it right or the person asking the question just gives up.
4. I know some of us like to play without having questions available to ask. In order to keep the thread going, if someone gets a right answer (confirmed by the question-asker) but has no question to ask, they can offer up the asking opportunity to whomever they want (or the next person to post a question).

Could I also suggest a standard colour to be used just for new questions when they are posted?
A bit like this. Then new questions will stand out from the various attempts at answers!

Bold doesn't work either via Tapatalk....But, if there aren't many forum members using Tapatalk that are interested in the quiz thread, maybe we go ahead and highlight questions using the red or bold text in the hope that helps most folks?
(I don't want to be the lone Tapatalk user that impedes progress!)

Desdemona is correct, though some of the resources I looked at state the name of the actress who first played the part in 1660 was never recorded. There is a record of Margaret Hughes playing the part nine years later, according to those same references, so it makes sense that she was the actress. Unless it was the fourth understudy instead...

London’s first production of Grand Hotel opened at the Dominion Theatre on 6th July 1992, playing for just under four months. However, it was originally slated to open at another West End theatre almost a year earlier on 19th September 1991, and posters were indeed designed and printed bearing the name of this theatre. (I have one!) Which theatre?

To the extent this may hit upon a reason why, the article I found which mentioned the production said, "[W]hen the London company of "Grand Hotel" opens this year, the producers will pay a hefty penalty because of the Shaftsbury Theatre's potential loss in liquor sales, due to the fact that there's no intermission."
