I am guessing at a Marvel musical. Currently playing at the Hyperion Theatre in Disney's California Adventure is "Rogers: The Musical", a Captain America based piece with upbeat 40s style music. Disney has used the California theme parks to try out 25 minute live shows with AGVA (American Guild of Variety Artists) union talent before making the commitment to do a full scaled Broadway show. Beauty and the Beast started out this way as did Aladdin, The Lion King (a street show) and Frozen. Some friends have seen it and all have commented positively on Rogers.

Is there any chance of "Mary Poppins" coming back to NYC? It had a decent run in the West End and quite a successful run when it was last on Broadway.

I have heard the rumour about Coco.
I would love to see an expanded Sleeping Beauty!

Hercules has just had a successful run at the Paper Mill Playhouse and will have its international premiere in Hamburg in March next year.

I just saw the new Aida in the Netherlands last weekend and considering all the trashing it received, I really don't think it was that bad. Could it be better? Sure. Was the original version better? Yes. But there are some truly good thoughts in there and of course there are still those fantastic songs by Elton John, that are so much better than most of the noisy pop stuff of today's shows.
So while it has been selling terribly in the Netherlands, I do hope this will have another chance somewhere (and dear Gods, bring back "Every story is a love story" to book-end the show).

The Jungle Book Aida (London) Coco Sleeping Beauty The Princess Bride (not a Disney film but have the rights) Have all been rumoured/confirmed as in development. I know that David Yazbek is now writing the score for THE PRINCESS BRIDE, but part of me wants to hear what Adam Guettel did with the material. Alan Menken is also working on a musical version of NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM (although not a Disney film).
