Hospitalised with a serious bacterial infection 🤢 tour postponed to take maximum advantage of massive interest rates.

If she ended up in an ICU it must have been pretty serious, if it was sepsis I thought they might have said. Hopefully Madge will be fighting fit soon as there are a lot of fans waiting to see this tour and a few people who post on here are probably going to London shows, I know of a few indirect friends who have tickets.

Tour rescheduled to start in London on 14th October (I’ll be in Vegas seeing U2 at that time or I might have looked at getting tickets)

Had a great time last night. Madonna was in good form, a spectacular show and a great set list overall. I was surprised at some of the omissions given that it was billed as greatest hits, but in the most part she delivered.

I was a huge Madge fan from when she first started and well in 2000's. I haven't heard so much of her later stuff although a friend who is a superfan and has done most tours keeps me up to date with what tracks to listen too. I think this tour might have been about playing hits she hadn't played for a while as much as the "staples" which every superstar will always have in their set list and never get dropped. But when you've had as many hits as her the set list will always be subjective as you can only fit a finite number in unless you just do bits of songs which I'm not personally a fan of.

Interesting that the decision was made to not have a band/live music playing for the first time in her touring history. Not even backing singers.
Gave the show more of a "Top of the Pops" feel than an organic concert....

Lots of Twitter comments saying she mimed throughout. Surely not? I’ve seen her a few times- including the palladium run and she didn’t mime during any of those concerts..

So no live band, no backing singers and possibly mimed. And if you are sitting at the back high up you have to watch the whole thing on a big screen. Mmmmm sounds like a great evening.

I've watched some clips and, bearing in mind I know most of the songs inside out, the lead vocal was identical for the most part to the original recordings.
There is talk that she is singing over the top of the recorded vocals...

If she is using backing tracks and not a live band that is a let down considering what the tickets likely cost.

Thanks to social media commentary on the show and video clips are online seconds after the performance that you can currently see the whole show online already. (Which is useful for the second night crowd as it was cut short at 11pm due late starting and several songs not played) . Seems like the die hard fans loved the show but seeing the set list and the clips so far am happy that I didn't book and will live with memories of previous shows with a band, fully live and far less interludes between songs, as well as saving several hundred pounds on tickets, travel, hotel and merchandise. The strapped leg is concerning but hope they are doing all they can to get her through the tour, so many fans have lost money already with the initial cancellation and many of us lost money with the cancellation of so many madame X shows European shows. There is no doubt in the clips she sounds superb, there are live vocals but if there are no live backing singers behind her then something is being played to make that strong a sound. Main fans seem happy first night and early reviews at positive and presume the tour is pretty much sold out so its a hit as long as it completes but where madonna has led the field for so long this tour is not going to steal thunder from Taylor, Beyonce, Ed and Coldplay tours which are ongoing or run over the coming months at the same time. From the Queen of pop who's tours have been so groundbreaking in production and ambition this one celebrating an extraordinary 40 year run of music seems rather muted.

So the only actual live music is her awkwardly strumming a few guitar chords under the most hellish version of I Will Survive you'll ever hear (and that includes my aunty Vera after a few too many bevvies at the karaoke. ) ? Oh, and one of her kids tinkling on the piano for a song nobody remembers. Fab!

It seems to be focused more on 90's hits than 80's hits - which I think is more appealing to the "stan" level fans (i.e. hardcore)
Realistically, I think most of the general public would be most happy to just hear the full Immaculate Collection tracklisting, plus a handful of the best known 90's songs (Frozen, Erotica, Secret, Ray of Light)

And apparently the sightlines on the highest level of the o2 - Level 4 - are pretty poor due to speakers and rigging in the way. Yet they are still around £250 each.
I've seen her in her heyday so I'm not prepared to pay these extortionate prices. I'll wait for the DVD/Netflix special!

Saw her years and years ago - she was late, her backing dancers did most of the work and no encore.

Hmm. Went tonight and it was… OK.
It just felt like she was trying to cram too much into the show and it ended up a bit of a mishmash.
Started half an hour late, so we had to leave early and miss the final two ‘acts’, which isn’t great when you’ve shelled out.
She looked and sounded great. The show just felt flat, with very little momentum. As soon as the buzz began, another interlude or bad remix killed the mood.
I’m glad I’ve seen her, I’m pleased I’ve heard some of those songs performed live. But these mega gigs are very rarely enjoyable experiences anymore.

Why do I constantly hear about her starting late? The only reason I can think for a late start would be for technical issues or if there was a serious transport issue and large numbers of the audience were still trying to get in. If its technical then she seems to be employing the wrong team as the delays seem to be every time she appears in London. If its just because she is being a "diva" and turning up late or has little regard for her paying audience then shame on her. I'm thinking it is the latter and that's so bad for the audience members who have paid a lot of money to see her, but sounds as if she doesn't really care. But then again, you don't hear much about the audience members complaining so what do I know!

I think it’s a technical problem. I’ve seen clips of her performing Bad Girl lying on a box that has clearly elevated above the audience. This didn’t happen last night.
When it became clear this was an issue, who cares? Just ditch the song or perform it without the effect, as she did in the end.
Also once it got to 9.20pm, don’t go ahead with some drag queen getting 10 minutes of self indulgence before introducing the main act.
Maybe it is diva behaviour, I don’t know, but the show more generally felt bloated and muddled so perhaps it’s down to her creative team.

Someone summed it up well on another forum I'm on:
"For "stans" (superfans) the show is amazing. For casual fans, just OK"
Apparently a lot of the crowd are not responding with the unbridled hysteria they're expecting. Could be something to do with the average age of the Madonna fan?! And many of the biggest hits are very short versions that have finished before the audience has time to fully "get into the groove" (as it were!) of them.

Unless I’m getting it wrong the elevated box is for Bedtime Story (prior to Ray of Light) not for Bad Girl. The box went ahead last night so unlikely the reason of a technical fault. Let’s face it she does it because she knows she can get away with it. Was pleased despite the delay we got the full show last night but there a lot of people who unfortunately were leaving early because of (presumably) transport and it’s disappointing they’re left in that position.
