It looks like a very strong season to me, in as much as you can work out what the plays may be about from the given descriptions.
A new John Logan play, "Double Feature", directed by Jonathan Kent, looks to be a highlight.
It's certainly not all revivals, so good to see that new plays are still in the mix for now.

Some depends on casting as well, but yeah, looks like a good mix of different types of plays to me

Good strong season which deserves support. Particularly looking forward to the revival of Stoppard's "Rock and Roll". Thoroughly enjoyed the original. I sometimes get the feeling Stoppard isn't quite celebrated as much as he should be. I do wish some ambitious theatre would revive "The Coast of Utopia". Now that would be something!

3 or 4 of the new productions on my list but not the Stoppard, which I did see when it was originally done. For me, seeing any of his work is still too much like paying to feel stupid, when I know others able to create the same impression free of charge.
Of the rest, some sound like definite no-nos and others like ones where I'll await early reports and reviews (and running times, so I don't get stuck with a short matinee or a long evening performance) and take my chance if they're very booked up or even sold out.
Also notice that prices have risen quite steeply, for seniors at matinees at least, though hardly surprising.

As usual Hamsptead ignore their posted times, and Downstairs is on sale already. No need to wait until 10.30.
A doubling of the price on all Downstairs preview tickets. They use to be £5 (the best value ticket in London I reckoned) now £10 for previews and a £5 added on for tickets after opening night, now making tickets £25.

Bizarre, isn't it? Knowing of this tendency, I very optimistically checked extremely early this morningand found that booking for neither space had gone live, but as you say, Dave B, booking has since opened for Downstairs well ahead of the published time. Having however done my research into previous plays by some of the writers, I wanted to book now for only one Downstairs production, so have done that; wonder how early booking will open for the main house?

I booked for one downstairs play - like the writer and director.

Quick question - Has anybody got the Octopolis play booked in for a viewing before the end of the month? I'm interested in it but have only one spare theatre slot on my theatre week at the end of the month. I'd rather not waste it seeing this if reviews are not great. Thanks.

Heading there on Monday 18th for the third preview. I'll report back.
