Another disappointing remake. Not awful but just quite dull.
Acting wise for me Jude Law is a bit of a muted Hook, and the kid playing Peter comes from the Emma Watson school of acting. Rest of the cast (particularly Wendy) are good though.
What singing there is is unremarkable and also hard to understand at times. Also opting for a realistic neverland takes away a lot of the magic and wander of the story. Some dodgy flying and fighting cgi.
It's also dark which makes it hard to see what's going on at times.
Obligatory messages unnecessarily explained and not sure the twist added anything

I really enjoyed it and appreciated the darker tone and new additions to the story. The remakes are pointless but if you ARE you going to do them then give us something a bit different. This movie was a lot of fun.

I went in with low expectations but I have to say I actually really enjoyed it. My 2 main criticisms would be that the acting from the children was a bit hit or miss. And also that Neverland itself felt quite empty and needed to be a bit more magical. But I thought this was a solid remake and also one of Disney’s better direct to streaming movies. Jude Law as Captain Hook in particular was great!

I tried to watch this but gave in after 20 minutes, not for me I’m afraid. I wish they would stop remaking the Disney classics!
