This man introduced me to the joy of musical theatre in the film version of Fiddler On The Roof. Thanks Topol, you made us all wealthier.

I feel a very rich man indeed for this wonderful musical that still has relevance today, despite its age.
I also feel rich for having seen him perform the role on stage.
Right, best find me a seat near the Eastern Wall.

I saw him one on stage many years ago in Zeigfeld at the London Palladium. It didn't have a long life probably because the show lasted about 8 hours and had hundreds of set changes.

Saw him in Zeigfeld but in those days never went to the stage door. I remember they had a giant windmill where they had a chorus girl in each of the sails as it sun round.
