I searched for a thread, but couldn't find one. Apologies if there is.
I finally watched DISENCHANTED tonight. Whilst it has had mixed reviews, I have to say that I absolutely LOVED it! I would even go as far to say that it was better than the original.
The two hour running time zipped along. I laughed and I cried. The story is good. The new songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz are excellent. 'Love Power' is the obvious big one, but there are so many others. 'Badder', the duet between Amy Adams and Maya Rudolph is an absolute bop, and I also enjoyed 'Fairytale Life' and 'Perfect' sung by Gabriella Baldacchino.
I loved all of the references to older Disney films peppered throughout in the direction, visuals and even the music (there were references to the original 'Enchanted' in some of the underscoring, but I am sure songs from 'Beauty and the Beast' etc). It looked visually stunning too!
Absolutely worth a few hours of your time.

I watched it last night too and quite enjoyed it. My mum had watched it earlier in the week and hated it. All in good fun, and lots of fairytale references.

I really enjoyed it as well. It would have been nice to have had a few cameos from former Disney cast members (like Jodi Benson, Paige O'Hara etc in the first film) but I suppose the 'cameos' in this film were from other Disney films. Fabulous songs as well. Alan Menken is a genius.

Sadly, I thought this was pretty poor. I didn't want to see Evil Giselle.
I quite enjoyed some of the songs though, especially Amy Adams' duet with Maya Rudolph.

I loved the costumes and wigs.
The story was a snooze.

I tried watching Disenchanted after a re-watch of the original. Sadly, I didn't enjoy it very much; only made it through to the 35 minute mark. I still find the first one very cute, but the parts I did see of Disenchanted were a bit cringe making for me.

I thought it was a very worthy sequel to the original, and it was great to see the characters again.
