Got my tickets in the pre-sale for Edinburgh. prices ranging from Ā£20 up to Ā£80. Balcony is currently closed but I imagine they'll open it up when the general sale opens up.

I'm really hoping we get some solid lead cast members. We were so blessed with Amy Ross on the last tour!

I believe she hasn't performed in live theatre since leaving the tour. She has since had a child with her husband, and has been working as a fitness instructor/personal trainer! I'd really love to see Amy Ross return to Wicked at some point. By far one of the strongest acting performances I have ever seen from an Elphaba.

I am a huge fan of hers but doubt she would want to return to the goldfish bowl that is Wicked.

Does anyone have any estimates on when we could start seeing casting news for the tour?
I seem to remember the lead cast for the previous tour being announced quite early!

I also want to throw support behind Courtney Stapleton as Elphaba. I saw her in Beauty & The Beast this week and at a couple points I was sitting watching her thinking āsheād smash Elphabaā.

So i am not certain this 'tour' refers to the current London show near Victoria Station. But if is does my question as follows,
Daugher 'had to' learn the songs - not really a fan and ..surpringing doesnt want to see it. But, the location suits our travels, and I do. From what i have seen on te' youtubes it looks..ok.
Is is a good one? a good couple hours. I didnt care much for &Juliet, a few moments perhaps / Wicked entertaining? and seating...stalls raised much? get someone with a big hairdo and your sutffed so to speak?

The thread for the London production is here: theatreboard.co.uk/thread/5/ongoing-wicked-discussion-threadOne tip is to try a Google search. Every long-running show in London has a thread. The search I used was: wicked site:theatreboard.co.uk My tip would be to book weekly rush, which is front row. I saw the London production just before Christmas and it's all performed very well, but I just find this hard to get into. Has a real fan base though.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but this gives ives an idea of what the seating is like at the BH, if you've never been before.
This is the pricing plan for Wicked at Edbinburgh Playhouse, to give a rough idea of the pricees

If you donāt want to sit on a bench stay away from the upper circle at the Bristol hippodrome!

If you donāt want to sit on a bench stay away from the upper circle at the Bristol hippodrome! agreed. I had a very uncomfortable evening watching Les Mis up there. Thought it would never end

Also, the further back you go in the Hippodrome stalls the tighter, more upright and more uncomfortable it gets. Even in a middle aisle seat in row X, this 6ā4ā lump was squirming through the Cher Show yāday, and crippled by the end. Excellent view though.

Laura Pick has been announced as Elphaba on the UK tour. Good on her, sheās very consistent and saved the show a number of times over the last year at short notice. Iām tempted to book as I havenāt seen her before.

Laura H was robbed. After her pretty much saving this contract I think it's unfair that they've offered the role elsewhere.

Laura Harrison could possibly be the tour standby anyway, who knows. People donāt tend to go straight from 2nd cover to lead with Wicked in general!

Laura H was robbed. After her pretty much saving this contract I think it's unfair that they've offered the role elsewhere. Do you ever think maybe she doesnāt want to be principle Elphaba? Not everyone wants to be the lead, some actors prefer to cover. Itās also one of the hardest female roles in musical theatre and touring on top of that makes it even more difficult. She might have been offered first cover or standby for the tour and would prefer to do that. Or she might simply have a completely different job. Being a lead doesnāt make you any better than a cover.

I never got the chance to see Laura in London, so I'm happy that I will be getting many opportunities to see her on tour.
From what I've been told she is an incredibly consistent Elphaba who has great strengths both vocally and in her acting.
I'm excited to see how she develops the role further as lead on tour!
