Felt the same, except I couldn't get to a theatre. Tried watching the movie and the broadway broadcast and just couldn't get through the first 45. Not the revolution it had been billed as, imo. My first experience of Rent was the movie - rewatched it recently and realised it’s terrible! Me too! Did you see the funny piece from a former Rent super fan who has basically realised that the Taye Diggs character should be the hero? This movie/play has not stood up well.

I think that's all part of their plan, but then again, and at the risk of sounding like Arthur Dent, I don't think I have ever found anywhere that makes a decent cup of tea. When I'm out and it's cold I end up buying a milky coffee and always regret it because I don't sleep. At risk of incurring the wrath of people who possibly care about and know a lot more about tea than I do, could I put in a vote for the English breakfast tea at Pret? YMMV. I am addicted to Pret’s EB tea,so anothervote from me.

This definitely won't sit well with the posters above but this is the unpopular thread so...
I can't stand coffee.
Or tea.

The NT professes that it aims for parity of representation between male and female playwrights but as far as I am aware there is only one woman on its associates team who is in a position to make decisions about what goes on stage. This renders the intent disingenuous. Representation isn’t just about what goes on stage but is also (perhaps more importantly) about who makes the decisions behind the scenes. Norris really annoys me because he reckons he is on a mission for social justice as regards diversity. Well, if this is true give diverse practitioners the keys to the kingdom. Don’t set yourself up as a messiah who can save them. That is patronising. Here’s a radical idea: how about a whole season - or year - when you put on nothing but plays by women. That should redress the imbalance nicely.

Tea is dirty water, and the only real coffee is espresso. All the rest of Starbucks' drinks belong to the garbage bin, together with Pepsi and Hawaiian Pizza.

Unpopular opinion: it's okay to feel positively towards shows. Not everything has to be picked apart or written off or dismissed, and it doesn't make you a bad person if your hobbies bring you joy. Nor, for that matter, does it make you a bad person if you realise that a particular hobby hasn't brought you joy for years so it's okay if you put it aside and pursue other options.

Very unpopular opinion: I am not all that bothered by gender-parity (or lack thereof) of writers and directors in theatre seasons.
I know I probably should be, and I am being a bad feminist and letting down the sisterhood, but honestly, there's than enough theatre I want to see as it is and don't feel any lack of engagement with it because more of it isn't written or directed by women.

Since we're discussing caffeine, I love RedBull. I know it's not healthy but it's delicious and love the smell of it. I drink a couple of cans a week cause I work at night and I just need it sometimes.

I used to be the same about Orange Lucozade at Uni, but then I got a little bit addicted and would drink one or two litre bottles a day, to a point where if I went a day without I'd get the shakes. You gotta pick your moment to quit. 😂😂

Surely the more Lucozade, the better? It's always advertised by sports people, after all.

My unpopular opinion takes us away from theatre, to the over paid world of television. I am slightly nauseated by the sympathy flowing toward Ant of Ant and Dec following his court appearance. There are those expressing sympathy with his position and his fight with addictions of various types. I will sympathise with his addiction battle, BUT the man drove a car (WITH HIS MOTHER IN IT!)whilst twice the legal level of alcohol in him. He crashed into two car and injured a child. Had this been me or you, we would have been another drunk at the wheel of a car and we would have got what we deserved from the magistrates. But here's what gets me. He earns an awful lot of money so why didn't he just pay for a taxi to take himself and his mother home?

And you can get it still or fizzy and it is mainly advertised to sports players because it has loads of crap in it that "allegedly" gives you lots of energy. My experience of it was feeling consistently awake but sluggish and worn down at the same time. It was such a weird time hahaaha.

However, if you have it when you are breast feeding your baby - the baby gets the runs.

I had norovirus the other year, and at the time I was absolutely 100% certain that if it hadn't been for Lucozade Sport (three tiny sips at a time, at fifteen minute intervals), I would have died. I mean, I probably wouldn't have died, but I still turn to Lucozade Sport when I feel ill and it does help me, if only in my mind.

That was my drug phase of 24 years haha, energy drink. But in hindsight it did make me really I'll just because I was having so much every day. I don't drink it anymore.
I will say tho, my hangover cure is none of this magical cures that some come up with. When you come in from a night out, two paracetamol, a slice of dry bread and a pint of water then straight to bed. I haven't had a hangover in three years. 😂

Piffle. You only get hangovers if you stop drinking. If you always stay the right side of nicely topped up you'll never get a hangover.
Lightweights.

Lucozade is basically all sugar I think they re-formulated the original drink this year, to get around the sugar tax. Agree with @baemax , it is the only recovery food I can tolerate when I am ill, too. Advertising Standards made them remove the health claims years back, but for decades before that my family swore by it, and frankly I still do. All of that. Also anyone who has to have any medical procedures where food isn't allowed for 24 hours beforehand (as I do every couple of years) I feel I might actually die without the support of Lucozade (can't bear it the rest of the time but still)

I follow a lot of lovely theatre people on Twitter. But I'm sick of the OVERWHELMING idea that we have to have OPINIONS (ie pick apart and stone to death) EVERY show. Sometimes a play/musical is just a nice night out. And (whispers) for a lot of audiences, that's just what they want. Also it's perfectly ok to just damn well like an actor/play/film/tv show/writer without having to damn well justify it.
