I’d love to see The Boy From Oz. Also while we’re on the subject of Jackman surely we’re due a another lavish Oklahoma? Annnd Brigadoon, Mack and Mabel, return to the forbidden planet. I agree someone should do Lord of the rings again but strip it back to actor muso Mumford and sons/once vibes

I love The Secret Garden and would love to see this but Cirencester is a bit of a schlep from not-London. Tbh I can't even see how it's only an hour out of actual London, that's a very bold claim. Haha sorry I’ve never been, was just going by this on their website “ By train If you get the right train, Kemble Station is just over an hour away from London Paddington. You can jump in a taxi at the station and be at our door within 15 minutes.” I guess it is indeed a schlep but I’ll check it out all the same, sounds a similar schlep to Chichester

I’ve heard great things about the piece but never seen it. Only an hour from London, actor muso style. Looks exciting! barntheatre.org.uk/news/secret-garden-productionDom is a great director and they have Debbie O’Brien casting so should be a proper west end level cast

Really enjoyed this, very pleased they cancelled the knee jerk axing. It’s a perfectly timely play, shows how men can get away with abuse and honestly looks at the psychology in all the characters. Well staged and acted with a brilliant creepily slowed down 80s soundtrack. Definitely worth going!

Haha sorry guys didn’t mean to be so reductive with my comment. I was merely trying to quickly describe her energy particularly at the start of the play, she has a nymph like fire within her but it’s fuelled by a desperate sadness and melancholy longing. Have no fear Rosalie does a great job with the character

Yeah I'd agree with most of the posters that this was a bit slight and unfocused. I did enjoy the story about the bunker but I think they missed a trick at the end, was expecting the Dr to say, 'so are you going to build a bunker now?' and the mob to laugh at the idea. I guess it's an entertaining enough evening out but I wouldn't rush to it. I'm assuming Washburn is hoping to get lots of productions at regional companies here and abroad and make a bit of money that way as it's the sort of thing that will pull an audience just on nostalgia factor

I thought this was banging, really well staged and a timely message about media and corporate interference. I like the influence of John Oliver, Jimmy Fallon etc on the later Howard Beale show, the idea that even our own prophets of liberalism are owned by big corporations is a great one.
Brilliant that Trump got a boo and anyone who thinks Trump isn't owned by big business and corporation is kidding themselves.

I finally saw this! Overall I really enjoyed it. Probably more so than Jerusalem because it was less exposition heavy and brilliantly had full parts for such a large cast. I'd agree with earlier posters that the ending is rushed and spoils it a little bit. I saw Rosalie Craig on the Company poster on the way in and then for the whole of act 1 I was thinking 'that looks like Rosalie Craig, she's not irish is she?' so was pleasantly surprised to discover it is indeed her and she's smashing in the role, totally believable to me as a seductive sprite living in the Carney house.

Was wondering what role Rylance could play, he will play Lear one day but that was obvs on this year so Prospero seems likely. Terry will presumably play one lead role, Rosalind? Surely it’ll be another 10 years or so till we get Rylance’s Lear? Prospero is a good shout!

So now VF has done a dramatic U-turn and is allowing it back! Can't tell if she's just a people pleaser or a good leader

Oh dear, this isn’t great. The Tiffany team’s box of tricks that somehow worked for Let The Right One In, Glass Menagerie and even Harry Potter - namely the black backdrop, snow, folksy music and jerky movements just make this show look sparse and dull.
The puppets all seemed a bit grotesque and naff, like something a community centre would throw together for a fish quay Festival. They also set a bunch of rules within the production that they then break, like everyone is a puppet except Pinocchio. Except the kids who are wearing puppetish masks, except when they’re not in act 2.
Overall just a bit under developed in my opionion. Puppetry is alright but Audrey Brisson is so beautiful that I couldn’t take my eyes off her and barely saw Jiminy.

Saw this last night and enjoyed it! I did wonder if parts of it are a bit questionable/dated these days politically or maybe I just need to lighten up? Mainly Elizabeth's don't touch me policy that when pushed into a cave and taken forcibly by the monster turns into deep love. Also Frau Blucher's ode to domestic violence 'he was my boyfriend' . What do you guys think?

Heard a rumour at the Big Fish gala night that Paul Whitehouse is working on a musical based on the sitcom, surprised it hasn’t been done already

Saw this last night and agree with the reviews, it’s pretty poor! Lots of sniffling at the end but I’d be willing to bet they were just people who have lost their own fathers as the piece doesn’t earn it Wow really? Maybe you should you appreciate that a show could speak to you & make you remember the people in your life (family/friends) that you have lost?? Shocked by such a bitchy comment. That’s exactly what I’m saying, I appreciate people are moved because they’re relating to it personally. If the show developed the journey of the characters with depth and not just on the nose sentiment then people who haven’t personally experienced this loss might also be moved because they feel involved in the story and characters.

I saw this last night and thought it was incredible. It cleverly captures the pathos and essence of regret and love with tangible sadness, it's just such a bold and brilliant piece, really moved me far more than any formulaically structured commercial musical can.

I use notes on my iPhone to keep a list. Used to collect programmes but it got expensive and consumed a lot of space! I average about 60 a year

I don’t have a CD player anymore Do you still have a DVD player, or computer with a CD / DVD drive? A disc will play in both of those. sadly nope, I’ve got a MacBook Air and a tv I stream things to. Seems oddly outdated not to release the downloads but I’m sure they will soon. At least I hope they do because I’ve just found a Download but I’d rather pay for it to support the production

Prebble refers to those feelings that make her reticent to comment but I think it's very brave of her to write this and necessary for more established artists like Lucy to hold the door open. The only way we'll challenge and change the status quo is if more people speak out. Of course it runs the risk of it turning into a witch hunt though so I hope people voice concerns rationally and sensitively

Like many others I've been disgusted to read about the sexual harassment and cover ups in Hollywood.
It got me thinking though, is the London theatre world a future scandal yet to errupt? I like to think we're more civilised this side of the pond but maybe that's naive of me. I've heard stories about ADs and young actors and most actresses can relay at least one dodgy casting couch anecdote about agents.
Hopefully the tide is turning and people in positions of power will behave respectfully and cautiously from now on and victims will feel empowered enough to speak out.

2 stars in The Times but can't read the review due to paywall. Hope this doesn't put them off giving new writers a chance

The Mischief guys used to do Lights Camera Improv, where they improvised movies. It was very funny, like showstopper but with films. I wouldn't be surprised if they were reviving that format for a couple of months.

This definitely wasn't my cup of tea. Mercifully short at 55 minutes but boy did it feel longer! 2 characters act out an average night at home while delivering intercut separate monologues to the audience. Still not exactly sure what they were about, Jonjo's I believe was about shooting a protester and I think Sharon's might have been about having a brain haemorrhage but both were so wordy, overwritten and pretentious that I kept zoning out.
If I sit and think really hard maybe there's an abstract point about cognitive dissonance. I'm not sure. Can't imagine it being a smash unless I've missed the point massively. Shame because I loved Confirmation and the cast are both highly competent.
