I only had very little interest in this show before, but might have gone to tick if off my list. But with Katharine McPhee? No way.

There's a big thread on this in the "International" section of the forum, so maybe this could be moved? Done

I might as well tear up my plane ticket if Beetlejuice would cancel Broadway now At least you got a ticket for Beetlejuice And so do I - finally. Different devices, IP addresses, browsers (including emptying cache and cookies and using private mode) - nothing worked. But what finally did the trick was to book as a guest with a different email address rather than to use my existing account. Booking went through and I received the confirmation email shortly after. What a hard nut to crack. Telecharge is terrible. The website is super buggy and lets be honest, it needs an update still looks like the website was built in the early 2000s. I suggest maybe calling the box office? Maybe you will be able to buy tickets over the phone but, I have no idea what charges the BO and your phone provider might try to add... I'm a bit hesitant to book via phone, but not because of the international call charges: For some reason, booking tickets online for the Wicked tour in Orlando was not possible (it wasn't Telecharge, but they had their own system that I couldn't persuade to sell me tickets (story of my life, huh?)), so I eventually gave in and called them. I spelt my name and email address, but never received a confirmation, but as my credit card was charged successfully, I just assumed everything was fine (and my seats were shown unavailable on the seat map) and let it go. When I went to the box office to pick up my tickets, they had nothing in my name (and all variations I could think of) or email address. Looking by seat numbers wasn't possible, either, but after some fiddling around, entering my credit card number finally worked. The name on the ticket was nothing similar like my actual name - I do wonder that the booking actually went through.
In short: Once bitten, twice shy.

Surely Naughty is also a standout song? One I can't stand - that's why I started my list with "personally"

And really there’s only one memorable (and admittedly brilliant) song in it. It is a show that has one legendary song Just wondering if it's the same song you two are talking about. Personally, I think there are three great (School Song, When I Grow Up and Revolting Children) and two good (Quiet, My House) songs in it.

I booked tickets for Beetlejuice from Germany via Telecharge without any problem at all... Odd. Still not working for me, at least five more unsuccessful attempts in the last two days. My ticket for Pretty Woman however was booked in 2min - but they're using Ticketmaster.

Can you try using a Virtual Network to disguise that you are not in the USA? My idea was quite the opposite, use a proxy server to pretend I was in the US. My best guess is that, for some reason, their site has some issues with international customers.
But by the end of November, I'm in the US anyway, so I might just wait until then and try booking a ticket from over there. In the meantime, I shall be spending my money for Ms Barks.

Two more unsuccessful tries on two more devices, so I emailed them. They did reply, but didn't even seem to read my email, as all they said was No, they can't, that's why I emailed you in the first place.
Edit: And their reply to my follow-up email: So frustrating - it's like talking to a wall.
Hello, Telecharge, a customer is threatening to spend $150...

Relieved to hear that it's not just me, but it IS odd. Why don't they fix their issues and update the site to a new and modern look and feel? It seems as if time stopped in the nineties... I had that with Telecharge a little while back. I tried three different cards, two different devices, and two different wifis, but it just wouldn't work. Sucks to be them, I was willing to buy a full price ticket but ended up getting the same show from TKTS for a helluva lot less. I, too, would fork out $150 for my ticket, but they don't seem to want to sell tickets. But as Beetlejuice is a new show, I'm not sure if it will be offered on TKTS when I'm over there - and I neither want to risk not getting a ticket at all, which is why I usually book the shows I really want to see ahead. Well, I'll give it another try tomorrow.

Ticketmaster was a joy to use. Logged onto site, seat selected and purchased within 10minutes. I would love to know why Telecharge is so difficult to use. Maybe one for U.S. board members. Is it common in the U.S. that Telecharge is difficult to access? Even the whole process of selecting a date and choosing a seat is a major PITA on Telecharge and requires oh so many clicks.

Why on earth do they use Telecharge as their ticket supplier? Just wanted to book a ticket for April and on several devices and browsers, I always get an error after the final step. I've double-checked everything and even called my credit card company, but they said everything's OK on their side and they didn't even get a query from Telecharge. I do remember that I had the similar problems with Telecharge before and I'm always happy when a show uses Ticketmaster - or any other site. I could of course call them, but I'm pretty sure they'd even misunderstand my name, let alone email address. Collecting my phone-booked tickets for the Wicked tour in Orlando was a hell of a fun... I'm in the US in four weeks, and maybe it'll work with a US IP address...
Edit: Being frustrated, I just booked a ticket for Mean Girls on Ticketmaster. Went through with a breeze.

Haven't seen much theatre lately, but since I had a free slot during this weekend's trip to London, I did see Heathers on Friday, mostly to see what all the fuss is about - and to finally tick the Theatre Royal, Haymarket off the list.
Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this show at all. Legally Blonde has one of my all time favourite scores, but I really disliked Heathers' score, it was just loud and untuneful and I'll definitely give the London Cast Recording a miss. The set looked cheap, cast were OK and I didn't care for anyone and couldn't wait for the show to be finally over.
Having seen Mean Girls on Broadway a few weeks ago, this show is so much better.

Yes, your friends are allowed to have opinions, but maybe don’t share them on this public forum? Do any of you understand professional casting? Or understand how it works? It’s not personal at ALL about the performers - I’ve said this many times. But an actors style, looks, face, weight, skin, teeth, age, class, sexuality (if obvious) will all be discussed at great lengths by agents, the director, composers, producers and casting - it’s what creating a show is all about. Drama schools often discuss the same issues - it’s all about casting! Are we not meant to discuss that? Are critics banned from commenting on the look and suitability of an actor they pay to see? To comment on if we think the actors truly fit the roles they play in a mature and diplomatic manner? I think that’s exactly what such forums are for. In America it’s 1000 times worse and unforgiving. That is the business!! So the "they" in your post is actually an "I" I presume?

Ariana Grande? What's wrong with them? She has a huge fan base and will get the viewers in. She also loves the show. But she can’t sing. If someone told me she’s a professional singer, I’d laugh at them. And if they persisted, I’d look for the candid camera because it can’t be meant seriously. She has such a paperthin and breathy voice and next to no charisma that I rather not see the entire show.

I did see both shows yesterday and I do agree with @allthingsstagey.
Also wasn’t quite happy with some of the changes they‘ve done: no David Coverdale welcoming us, no Candy, no Dream Sherrie (they did have a Dream Dennis in Can’t fight this Feeling though), no programme scene (just a short comment about how bad the movie was) - this reminded me once again how badly Simon Lipkin is missed in this and if it wasn’t for him and his ad-libbing, I wouldn’t have become the fan of the show that I am -, no “sparkle” during High Enough and they’ve cut Drew’s “I want something” between Oh Sherrie and The Search is over. Actually, the bum in the train station ruined the entire scene for me. I also didn’t quite like that the band is off stage most of the time.
All in all, I’m rather unimpressed. Seeing the show again in Manchester next weekend, hopefully they’ve changed some things until then.

Not even Willemijn gets me to sit through the German production, even if I knew for sure she'd be on. Scrolling through the German FB page of Bat, I can't help noticing how many people are turned off by the German translation. Because it's

If anyone missed the Mary Poppins thread, Aladdin closes end of August 2019 to make way for it. As much as I like the show, their initial casting has put me off and I'm not too sad to see Aladdin closing. Not overly happy about Mary Poppins being its replacement either, but hey...

Is his part a non-singing role? Not really. His big (solo) number is Bon Jovi's Wanted (dead or alive), and he's also part of a couple of other songs.

. Viserys - have you heard of any of the leads for Oberhausen? I know you're worried about the production values, but if Bat closes in the West End and doesn't tour the UK, I will probably check out the German version for my Bat fix. Oberhausen is near enough to Bochum to go on one of my Starlight trips :-) Not sure if these two names are already known: Strat - Robin Reitsma (Netherlands) and Raven - Sarah Kornfeld (Austria) from: www.stage-entertainment.de/musicals-shows/oberhausen/bat-out-of-hell/news/cast.htmlBut I’m with viserys here - as much as I love the show, I am not going to see the German production. Meat Loaf songs in German? What’s wrong with these guys?

I'm in row D, so hopefully I'm safe?
God, if there's one thing I hate (apart from bad audience behaviour), then it's audience participation. Just don't do it. Don't.
