I guess previous Olivers funded Old Friends and i guess this one will bankroll its forthcoming Broadway run. Small mercies

Have I missed something, what's the filler? To be announced next week apparently but don't get your hopes up! But nothing to do with this mornings state of the nation address from Cam Mack?

Hi capybara great to meet you and fab review. I was sat next to you, wearing a blue t-shirt and yacking on about Company! Back to the show, it was even better for seeing it for a second time. I was very moved and tearful at multiple points - i didn't know this revue had the power to do that.

I thought Rake was excellent. Good singing, playing and staging - ok it was a little cramped at times and i suspect not as Hogarth intended! A stylised production like Manon but this one made perfect sense
One of the best Rakes ive seen and id love to see the principles again in other roles.
Next season is Blonde Eckbert and The Snowmaiden. Im not sure if i fancy another snow maiden or to be precise, a Rimsky-Korsakov opera.

The Metro have rather belatedly posted a 5 star review in today's issue. "You have to really love theatre to get this show, but the rewards are there for those who do"
So if I didn't like it, I'm just not a big enough fan of theatre? Alrighty.
You obviously HATE theatre 😉

That is a terrible post with no purpose what so ever. The poster could link it to any announcement coming out in the next month. Meh.

It Is What It Is 10. The Road 3 11. Osteria Zeno (Toast 3) 12. The Soldier’s Dream 13. The Road 4 (Part 1) 14. The Road 4 (Part 2) 15. Oh, Look, Here's The Embassy! 16. Bishop’s Song 17. End of Act One 18. Entr’acte 19. Digestion 20. Shine 21. Hesitation 22. Double Duet 23. Interlude 1: Marianne And The Bear 24. Interlude 2: Wandering 25. Interlude 3: Snow 26. I very rarely click through to tabloid links, but the S*n are claiming that investors are worried they won’t make their money back and are threatening to pull out and therefore forcing it to close. Now I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure that’s not how theatre investments work… 😂😂😂 LITERALLY not how it works. How unlike the scum to get the story wrong

DC's article seems rather confused to me. On the one hand he seems to be saying ON is a brave experimental piece and on the other its not very good.(so why should it stay open?) I don't buy in to the argument that ON is a daring and trail blazing show. As a regular theatregoer there was nothing I'd not seen before and done better in other shows. I havent read the article but surely, theatre can be brave and daring and also not very good ?

I enjoyd this, great fun and the cast really give it 100%. Although it is relentless in tone and some pathos / emotion would be of been welcome. Great show but just not for me.

Up until yesterday, they were still looking for a stage manager for the show. On that ad it said Runs April 14-June 29 in London, England. That includes rehearsals, obviously. It's sounds very hastily thrown together. I wonder if they'll reuse the set from Habeas corpus and Maria Friedman?

The Menier really is fast becoming the theatre not to go to, isn’t it? It was losing points but this sounds like a perfect fit (Forbidden Broadway works so well there). so hopefully this can turn its fortunes around

"Myles was off A LOT when he was on Broadway." I wonder if it is due to this production being very dance intensive and the toll it takes on the body. What's his background ie from a dance academy I suspect he's got better things to do

I struggle to like this opera but thought WNO's production to be stunning. By dressing Tadzio in the childish sailor suit, i got that he was 14 ... im also used to Butterfly aged 16 to be played by a 50 year old!

I think its going to be huge. Big cast, big orchestra and, I expect, lavish costumes and sets. Also a new opening number. A new opening number. Eh?

The Fairy Queen Hampstead Garden Opera 19 - 28 April including two mattines
I've never seen HGO before but I love a bit Purcell and so have booked. In the Autumn they are doing Onegin - yay. Tchaikovsky and Purcell make me happy.

I remember reading in Opera that a new Turandot is planned for the ROH.
2024 is the 100 year anniversary Puccini's death, so maybe we'll get it then?

Any solid rumours as to what's going Drury Lane? I know people have said Sweeney or Hercules, but curious if anyone has heard any more credible whispers. I hope im wrong, i wonder if its going to be a series one nighters

I'm seeing it in Hull (always nice to visit a theatre that was integral to my growing up). As this will be about my 6th Little shop I doubt I'll see it in Sheffield, but I have seen a lot there over the years
