Why have we heard so little about the song Far Too Late - it’s the best song in my opinion!

Hopefully this signals a step change in casting that will be more representative of the people we know in our own lives. That will differ for everyone though. For those living outside large cities, the majority of the population is still white. Personally most people I know are white, including a quite a lot of Eastern Europeans at work, plus a few of Indian origin. The recent trend in musicals, where ethnic minority representation seems to only equal more black cast members, isn't at all representative of the people I know in my life. THANK YOU!!!!! (and it’s not just a few main cities.... it’s MOST cities AND towns across the UK where it’s 92/95/98 per cent white population) That is all my issue is, and it angers me more that you are called racist for saying this. Casting is casting and nothing else. Moving on......

(Posts removed for reasons) Interesting to see that the mods won’t let us rationally discuss the problems with casting in 2021 in an adult way!!!! I look forward to more Asian, Indian, Pilipino actors being cast in lead roles! Moving on I’m excited to see the show.

West end talent.
Have you learned your lines?
Maybe hire one of the students from arts ed, Mountview or Guildford who would have learned the lines before even getting the part.
Cheap. Ugh

Ok look at 1.21 and see the seating layout and turntable
My guess is that the WHOLE From section rotates with the stage and ends up FACING the audience.
ALW always wanted to use the auditorium revolve in cats but never did fully apart from the start. This way the audience in the stalls move to that stage position. You can see the metal railings/guards.
Thoughts?

Anyone having an issue booking? I keep getting an error message - something along the lines of ‘the address cannot be doubled’. You’ve already bought from them before. Choose forgotten password

‘Martin Guerre’ for me. So many beautiful melodies and the orchestrations were sublime. But the story was CRAZY! And some lyrics Over there, with the hair, I don’t care, ITS MARTIN GUERRE! Lol

Some dynamic pricing going on already - with some of the side front stalls seats down to £19.50/£29.50 for midweek previews! A bargain as they are typically going for £99 on other dates. Bought them ) thank you !

Maybe she's only their stepmother? Which would make genetic sense given she's white & both Princes are black. Maybe Cinderella & Prince Sebastian could bond over both having stepmothers they don't get on with.
I would assume they're just using stage rules of colour blind casting, like how a black Eponine can have 2 white parents and we don't question it too much
DONT WE? Lol......

Not impressed with the You Tube videos above. Nowhere near the power soprano and vocal excellence required for the role. A sweet 7/10 and she also isn’t acting the text or playing with her belt or chest or head voice either. It’s far more intricate and clever than just averagely singing it sweetly. Hm.......

Such an underrated score too. Underrated by WHOOO? Every west end Wendy I know adores the score not to mention the amazing songs Out There, Someday and God Help The Outcasts known to millions because of Eternal and Better Midler!

Apart from B Incredible Score, I would say that Six had none of the other attributes. Fantastic Show though. Six has an amazing word of mouth, an INCREDIBLE SCORE, great promotion and ad work, the Arts though lovingly grubby was very central to its success and it is about King Henry 8th’s wives!

The music in Thriller made the show sell itself, nothing else mattered. And it wasn't a musical, it was a very good revue/tribute show that tourists could enjoy without worrying about language barriers. Thriller had B the music and G micheal Jackson had just died!

Hit musicals are a combination of
A amazing story/plot/message B incredible score C sensational cast D gorgeous/clever set and visuals E hype/logo/marketing/advertising F venue and location G timing (with other shows and current politics/news) H connection to a famous person/event I amaaaaaazing word of mouth!
If one of these are out - it’s a very rocky road

I mean if CHF keeps the role of Cinderella going forward she’s pretty much sorted for life with musicals, given her close relationship with Cameron Mackintosh, and now ALW 😆 Ask Lottie Mayor. She might not agree. There are plenty of people who have starred in ALW shows only for them to not even be working in theatre ten years later.

Those pics are a right hotch-potch. Some of them seem to be themed round the character, while others aren’t. Carrie’s is ridiculous. Who signed that off? I don't know what you're looking at BurlyBeaR, they're clearly all themed. Cinderella has anger issues relating to housework; the Queen's a lush; Sebastian models unconvential knitwear (what is that? A short sleeved polo neck?); the Godmother has just finished her level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing; the Stepsisters are practising for careers as Instagram influencers; and the Stepmother likes pointing at things. S'obvious. WHAT ARE THEY WEARING???

I don’t understand your “change is coming?” Have you seen Six? Lion King? Hamilton? Colour blind casting in Les Mis decades ago.
I find it a bit odd that there have been loads of comments on social media about a black actress playing Christine but I haven't seen any comments about an Asian actress playing Carlotta. Surely that is equally diverse? It sometimes seems as though people saying they want more diversity only care about more visibility of black people and not about any other ethnicities.
THIS! Why are there no Polish people on TV or in adverts? I’m friends with dozens and I believe almost 2 million polish people now live in the UK. Also asian actors? When was the last time we saw one in a soap? Why can’t a white actor play an animal in the Lion king? It’s not real life. Positive discrimination can only happen it seems one way and black/African mixed race heritage to counter act social justice, BLM, centuries of systemic racism, mass murder and slavery it seems. Anyway I know Lucy personally so I’m very pleased for her, she’s beautiful and very talented.

It’s expensive because there are lots of people who can afford such seats and don’t think it’s expensive. Such new mega musicals cost millions to produce and run and with royalties the producers need clear profit. On Broadway world and playbill they list the box office receipts from Broadway and musicals make over a million dollars a week but have huge running costs. There are dozens of corporate events companies from the City who will take clients to such events as well as rich tourists who will also buy premium seats (Americans). Also note that the West End is half the price of Broadway seats and there are hundreds of seats under 40 pounds still. I also think they will do some day lottery or house seats as they did with School Of Rock. it's gotten very pricey over the past decade. Time was you could get decent seats for £25, now for that you're looking at being in the gods! If you're coming from the regions as I do, add on the price of a half decent not too far out hotel and train, and meals and you can be looking at £2-300 to see a show. Times that for a family and it becomes very expensive. It's a shame cos so many people my age remember west end shows sparking their love of theatre and a lot of kids now will miss out cos its just so expensive! I find theatre cheaper in London than all the regions! There are soooo many offers, two for one, theatre weeks, day seats, lotteries, upgrades and side stalls or circle seats are 1/3 the price of the mid stalls. The side circle seats for School of Rock were great! I got side stalls seats for wicked with my ATG card for 18 pounds.

Thinking of booking to see this but OMG why is theatre SO EXPENSIVE!!!?? Fancy them seats in the stalls where you 'go to the ball' but £150! pretty sure i could go to an actual ball, dress n all for that! It’s expensive because there are lots of people who can afford such seats and don’t think it’s expensive. I follow Matt on Twitter and that's definitely a joke! Nice guy :-) Obsessed with Gloria Estefan! I've performed The Witches of Eastwick and it's a great show for females!!! I'd actually love it to be updated for today as it is quite dated. What’s dated about it? Why update it? That’s the show. Does Kiss Me Kate, King and I and Grease need woke makeovers? Fascinating discussion
