Love reading everyone else's thoughts on this show but I must say that I thought Siobhan Redmond was great!

I wonder why Giant is listed as being performed at multiple venues. London and New York? I thought this was an error. When I scrolled down, one of the performances of it was listed as the Jerwood Upstairs, which can't be right. Also the times on the website weren't right either, it said something like Monday to Friday at 2.30 and 7.30 when in fact there are very few midweek matinees, if any.

It was a great shame that Sonia Friedman for some reason was never able to bring it in again. Such bad luck for the cast and creatives.

Fair enough, just thought a WE transfer would be fairly alluring.

Sorry to be a naysayer but I think it's a slightly underwhelming season. Only two main shows in the Jerwood Downstairs (in addition to Echo running for two weeks), and there seems to be a gap between 27th July and 20th September. I see the Dahl play was originally developed for the Bridge. Upstairs is better.

I'm still curious as to why Alex Young didn't do the transfer of Standing At The Sky's Edge when she was free to do this.

I saw this last night and have to agree with much of what others have said. There's just a little bit too much going on in terms of the multiple characters, video scenes and never ending revolve for us to really focus at times on the nuances and depth beneath the surface. The scene which I thought was the best in the play was the longer beach scene at the top of Act 2, which didn't feel quite so rushed and allowed the characters to breathe a little.
Still, it wasn't dull at all and the staging is so dynamic that it didn't feel overlong (we were out at 10.10pm). I really liked the overall blue aesthetic of the set and props by Fly Davis, and I thought the acting was universally excellent. I must admit to being thrilled to finally see Keeley Hawes on stage, being a fully paid up member of the DI Lindsay Denton fan club (Line of Duty). And This Life means a lot to me as a show so I was very pleased to see Jack Davenport also. I liked the chemistry between them.

Not the longest first half that I can recall Years ago there was a almost full text Hamlet touring with Stephen Dillane, Donald Sinden and Gwen Taylor in the cast. The interval was 150 minutes in... I remember leaving the theatre after 11pm ** A quick Google reminded me that this was 1994/5 and directed by Peter Hall Yes, it ran at the Gielgud and as I recall, Sir Donald took his leave before the curtain call, and who could blame him?

Just out of the matinee. I adored this. One of the best new plays I've seen in aeons. They're all superb but Lorraine Ashbourne just chews the whole thing up and spits it out. Her performance is a tour de force. Yeah, it gets a bit soapy by the end but hell, I went along with it hook, line and sinker. This just simply must transfer somewhere!

Trafalgar Theatre. Anyone know what the play revival is which is up next, *and* can say anything about it?

The Trafalgar show seems to be quite exciting judging by these posts. Anyone any idea when it will be announced, as I'm trying to finalise my May and June trips this week but may need to factor this show in, if it's a good one!

Next show at the Trafalgar theatre is "the return of one of the best new plays of the century". Any ideas? The History Boys? I have an idea. Well, actually, I don't have an idea - I know what the play is. And it's even better news than it just being a revival of the play itself... As for James Corden, I was under the impression that he was about to be in a new play by a leading UK playwright in a major London venue that I think is scheduled for early summer - unless it has been shelved. Interesting! Any clues?!

I understand that as a marketing strategy, these can be effective. However from a punter's point of view I wish producers would just go back to making the announcement when all the details such as theatres and dates can be revealed.

Theatre Royal Bath just announced a new production and tour of The History Boys, so unlikely it's that. I think it'll be a revival of One Man, Two Guvnors with James Corden returning, they were looking to stage it in 2024 in the West End so this would line-up perfectly with that. It won't be with Corden if it is OMTG I thought he said he was going to do it again but either way, do we really need it back right now?

21st Century presumably, but it could be anything. Won't be Slave Play then, if it's "returning".

I think someone said on Twitter it was now 2hrs 40mins so maybe worth checking with the Donmar if that's accurate.

What’s the Donmar policy on returns? They give you a credit minus a £1.50 transaction fee.

Curious about the next @sohoplace show after Red Pitch. Would love them to return to another classic play like Medea at some point [br I would love Till the Stars Come Down to go there!

Previews are £29.25 - £89.25 £39.25 - £133.25 after that. I am curious about this. Without spoiling anything she does a very good job in the film Predestination which has elements of this. This has rocketed in price since this was posted!

I'm on holiday at the minute but when I get back I'm going to put in a written complaint to ATG. Probably won't do anything but it will make me feel better.
