I enjoyed the tour a lot more than what I sat through in the west end.

I personally enjoyed the West End production more than the tour. I just felt without the children in the beginning you lose that emotional connection between the fathers and their sons which plays such a big part in the show. Not sure who the cast are now but when I saw it in Birmingham I thought the Angels were very lack lustre. Somehow the show had lost its sparkle but that could just have been the night I went. However if it was in my area again and I could get a cheap ticket I would definitely go again.

Its not selling amazing in Bradford either so does anyone know any discount codes flying round? There's an offer on Travelzoo for the Monday to Thursday performances next week. Four price bands from £17 to £31. Enter 'Travelzoo' in the promo code box.

The tour stop in Manchester wasn’t a patch in the WE production but then again I saw Killian and Matt Henry in London so that’s a high bar.

I saw the tour twice in Edinburgh and really enjoyed it. It was very early into the tour and the cast were on top form. I am going to the closing night in Hull next month.

I’m so glad I made the last minute decision to see this ! Joel was incredible my first Charlie but listening to others hes my favourite. Acting was very strong and his voice was great. The show probably got going when Lola came in and that section was done really well. Good sound design, loud when it needs to be! But the opening number was so so so quiet but when we got into the big show stoppers it was ten times louder.

Was at the Theatre Cafe on Friday to see Kayi and Joel. They had hot-footed it over from Milton Keynes to do a Q&A and sing some songs(Step One and Hold Me In Your Heart). They also did photos with the fans. They donated a pair of Lola’s boots to the cafe. They said they couldn’t believe they had reached the final month of the tour.Great fun chatting to other MT fans. One lady told me she had seen the show 53 times...wow!

Update
Closing night was amazing! You could tell from the get-go that there were a lot of fans in, with entrance applause for Demitri, Joel, Kayi and the Angels, and several standing ovations - after Sex is in the Heel, Everybody Say Yeah, Soul of a Man, and Hold Me in Your Heart. It made an amazing atmosphere for a special performance. At the end, Kayi and Joel did some speeches about how although the show itself is over, its message is more relevant than ever.
I hope this will go out on tour again in the near future!

Or Bill Kenwright’s ‘One Slightly Saucy Boot’. I can see the marketing now. Kenwright gets Kinky, but not really. But maybe. Starring Beverley Callard as Lauren and Ainsley Harriot as Lola.

Forgot to mention this in my post about closing, but the New Theatre in Hull is actually a really nice venue - recently refurbished, gorgeous auditorium and lovely staff. Sat at the back of the stalls for £25 and it was perfect, the overhang of the circle didn't affect anything and the sound was great. They are getting several big shows next year like Six and Les Mis, so it's worth checking their website if you live within reasonable travelling distance.

We saw an incredible amateur KB this evening at The Playhouse in WSM. I hated this at the Adelphi, quite liked it on tour but watching Weston Operatics tonight perform their last of 4 performances added many new dimensions. 6 great varied angels, an absolutely phenomenal Lola (didn’t get a programme so no idea of their name) and the bits that grate when they shoehorn in every last member into ensemble numbers, made perfect sense and just gave it a bit more ooomph.
