Can’t remember which member recommended this (I think it was in the Traitors thread) but thank you! I’ve become a fan and episode 1 of season 24 has just dropped on YouTube - search for channel WIDM English Subs.
Yes it’s in Dutch but a superfan very kindly subtitles the entire show for non Dutch speakers and despite having a bit of an aversion to subtitles personally I find it really easy to watch.
It’s a similar concept to Traitors, one “candidate” is chosen to be the mole by producers and then spends the rest of the series trying to scupper the rest of the groups attempts to build up the prize pot. The group take a quiz at the end of every episode to test them on who they think the mole is and the one who gets most questions wrong is eliminated. Viewers don’t know who the mole is so we get to speculate and guess along with the group until the final episode.
But what makes it are the engaging cast, interesting team challenges and the insane production values. They choose a different country for each series and you get to see lots of amazing locations, season 24 is Mexico. Last year was South Africa which was stunning. If you can, watch it on your big telly to get full benefit.
Highly recommended!

See if you can search the original channel 5 UK series, I think they did 2, in like 2000? The American ones were good too, they did about 5 seasons.

We're enjoying this while failing to grasp some of the names. But we all know the man we have come to describe as Dutch Monty Don a-like, Kees. I'm wondering though if this is like having say Kirsty Wark or Fiona Bruce turn up in a UK equivalent.

I like the poker faced host “Rrrik” who I think is probably a right laugh when the camera is off. Love how he says money is going in “de pot” and “success” means “good luck”. It’s a very charming language wuth lots of englishisms thrown in. The challenges are extremely hard but this weeks with the abseil and leap across the mountain was …

I was saying the challenges are very… challenging. Seems that they’re so challenging that the candidates don’t understand them either! I don’t think I’d rely on Kees too much going forward!

Episode 4 has continued with what appears to be games with totally inpenetrable rules. I'm glad that the contestants are equally puzzled because otherwise I'd worry that it was just our family. Can't wait for next Sunday when episode 5 should appear - though I am enjoying being made to wait, just like the old days.

Anyone looking for this week's episode (the penultimate one, episode 9) don't panic! The translator has posted that she is off to the Emirates Stadium today and so won't be posting the subtitled version until late tomorrow. Similarly next week's will be later than usual as it is shown live and subtitling that is more complicated.
