Not always very high value in terms of ticket yield or donations

Watched the live stream of " Heroes of the Fourth Turning" last night - free to watch but donations (to support NYC-based creatives) are encouraged. Found it gripping and really interesting - shows the point of view of a group of "reasonable" conservative Trump voters, goes into their points of view and why they did it. Disturbing and slightly terrifying! Done live over zoom with the cast all in the same room but filmed separately - like the Old Vic approach I guess? There's one UK-friendly timed performance left - Saturday at 2PM NY time / 7PM UK time.

So live stream better than nothing. Strallens have probably bought all the seats so they can have a family gathering and get around the rule of 6.

English National Ballet has launched Ballet on Demand, with charges from £4.99 for three days' access. *Quite* a small library of productions to begin with, but it's a start! Even if performances were continuing as normal in the UK, making the company's work available around the world would be a positive development, and provide a welcome revenue stream. ondemand.ballet.org.uk/?_ga=2.150965302.166095145.1604514914-372997439.1604514914ETA: Another "5 amazing dance films" where recorded in September and October, which are going to be added to the library this month and next.

The Globe has done a semi staged read through of their Macbeth from a few years back that you can pay to stream, only it's so much more than a semi staged read through, yes people sit down at a distance a lot more than they traditionally would but it's basically the play minus a bit of action and with some visible scripts. Well worth a visit if you didn't see it at the time and fancy doing so now in a comfier seat.

Not just the utter squashyness of the seating but yes, actually the seating.

I just checked out the West End Woofs stream, sadly it's just the celebs talking about dogs for 2 hours, not performances!

There are still a few days left to watch this dance double bill from Headspace (via Northern Ballet).
After the Interval is before the interval, with Before the Interval after the interval. Don't worry; it's all explained via Zoom!
It's quite contemporary, so it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but after watching it last night, it comes with my recommendation...not that that means anything. 😉 Who knew that dancers could speak?

For any fans of Chicago this is great and in aid of a good cause. How many actors can you name?

My Mother Said I Never Should, a co-production with the world-famous Crucible Theatre, goes 'live' tonight, and is then available until 17 December.
Or if that doesn't appeal, there's a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Birmingham Royal Ballet arriving in...Birmingham. With a name like that, seems the obvious place for the company to be located!

My Mother Said I Never Should, a co-production with the world-famous Crucible Theatre, goes 'live' tonight, and is then available until 17 December. This is completely off-topic, but whenever you joke about it being the world-famous Crucible Theatre, I always remember how excited I was about going to the Crucible when I was visiting Sheffield, only to discover that it actually had nothing on while I was there. I was pretty crushed, even though this was in 2018, before I'd properly caught the theatre bug. (I wasn't coming because of the theatre, I travelled from home for a long weekend in the UK to see the Arctic Monkeys in concert because that's what one does to mend a broken heart, apparently, when that one is me. But I really wanted to visit Crucible and in the end I only got to see it from the outside. I loved Sheffield, though!)

Joke, Forrest? I can assure you it's no joke. Being world-famous is a serious business! 😂 The very fact you felt compelled to make a pilgrimage rather proves my point, does it not? When new dates are announced for Standing at the Sky's Edge, I can think of few things more appropriate for your first actual visit. And if, fingers crossed, it's next year, that will coincide with the 50th anniversary of opening. It's meant to be! 🙂 I don't know if Arctic Monkeys have ever described Richard Hawley as an influence, but he must be, surely. Even if you're not normally a musicals type of person, SATSE is most definitely a play with music. Isn't that right, BurlyBeaR?

Rob Fowler & Sharon Sexton are tonight, with Carrie Hope Fletcher, Ramin Karimloo and After You - the new musical starring Bradley Jaden & Alexia Khadime over the weekend. Worth a watch!

I recently took out a a 1 month subscription for Digitial Theatre. A lot of stuff on there that doesn't appeal or I gave up on. However I loved Ghosts, Dollls House, Lovesong, Over there and Into the woods.
Looking at the site not much was added over the last few years so I wonder how long it will last. They surely need to keep adding to attract the punters?
