I wouldn't be surprised if he is frustrated at how little she is training - her Eastenders filming schedule means she is doing much less than all the other contestants, and too little for this stage of the competition really.
I think they get on ok, but she has far more potential than she is showing and that must be frustrating.

I think Anton isn’t the touchy feels, look into my eyes kinda chap that some of the others manage effortlessly to be. He is older and they are both pro performers after all, used to this kind of contact. Interestingly he was in a suit and tie for his challenge appearance. When i saw him in the street once he was in jeans and leather jacket. So a persona?

I see that this Saturday Craig will be leading everyone in a "Hello Dolly" tribute.

No he is not. It is there online, childhood, age, marriage, the lot. What is mysterious about that?

If Chris and Karen are Artful Dodger and Oliver on Saturday, does this count as a same sex couple dance?

Is it just me or did Craig look frighteningly like Patti Lupone? Has anyone ever seen them in the same place at the same time?

Perhaps Craig will take over from Imelda...

Consider Yourself. It didn't work as a foxtrot but the ensemble bits were fab.
I enjoyed it

This is yet another lacklustre Samba. Alex is fading into the background
Not enough Latin flair

This is an awful bit of choreography.
Doesn't fit the music or mood at all
Dreadful

Yes. He still tends to overdo things. But that was hugely enjoyable.
But his jacket was too big...

Scoring has been ridiculous.
That was not a 39 Charleston

I've not really warmed to Emma and Anton is a pain but I quite like that Charleston, it seemed to suit her.
Kelvin still good, Alex and Chris still ok but looking outclassed. Karim still technically impressive but does nothing for me. Even after what happened last week I'm surprised Craig gave a 10 given how laboured that spin at the end looked.

Lots of people complaining about not being able to vote online. Tonight's result could be controversial.....

The lad executed 4 fouette turns wonderfully after dancing completely full out for 2 minutes straight?! See, this is the thing. The average audience don't really know enough about dance to vote correctly.

Thought Kelvin & Oti were fabulous - his Viennese Waltz technique was excellent and stretching the beat like that is professional standard.
Emma & Anton - fabulous indeed! She has improved leaps and bounds in the last two weeks.
Karim & Amy - not even close to the best jive in Strictly history, four 9s at best - he seemed on the verge of losing his balance a lot of the time and the footwork was not perfect.
Alex & Neil - nowhere near enough samba, it would have been a good Couple's Choice dance but that wasn't what they were supposed to be doing.
Chris & Karen - hardly any Foxtrot, and what little there was he danced badly.

I just don't get the love for the BATB routine.
It was lacking in real storytelling - admittedly the decision to use the movie rather than stage lyrics and then to mess around with awful cuts didn't help at all - but the number is about Gaston and LeFou. It made no sense to have Belle represented whilst retaining the tavern setting.
If you are going to celebrate musicals, then do it properly - honour the source material, don't use it as an opportunity for something only tangentially related to the original.
There was no real acting from Kelvin. There was some muscle flexing and some posing - no real sense of swagger or presence. I found it choppy and uneven.
His technique might have been excellent - but it was not a good piece of dance overall. Yes, technique is important - and should be rewarded. But artistically that was a mess of a routine. Not Kelvin's fault - but you have to view the routine as a whole and it fell well short for me. Yes, I have directed the show and so know that number inside out - and that had none of the feel of the original.

I really enjoyed Kelvin and Oti’s performance. Karim was very good but not sure that was deserving of the first 40 of the series. I think Alex is in danger of being in the dance off.

Some of the cuts to edit songs to 90 seconds of dance have been horrendous this year. Gaston made no sense musically at all tonight. I wanted to enjoy Karim's jive but was distracted by the fringing on Amy's frock looking really uneven and badly put together. Strange what can put you off.

I think the wardrobe department had got this week’s costumes from the Black Friday sales! Oti and Emma looked nice but the rest of them didn’t seem up to the usual standard. Gaston was a golden opportunity for a tight muscle shirt! And what on Earth was Karim wearing? It was unflatteringly too big and didn’t look right for the era at all. I enjoyed Emma’s charleston, thought Kelvin was good but the choreography was uninspiring, thought Karim was great but looked like he was trying a bit too hard, agree that both Chris and Alex gave their all and gave good performances but neither danced the prescribed dance properly. The Hello Dolly routine was a hoot. I wish they were bringing in a proper show to perform tonight though, we could have had Danny Mac and a bit of White Christmas or Joe Sugg and Waitress, instead Beverly Knight and Cats - yawn. Looking forward to seeing Idina though.

Looking forward to seeing Idina though. They wouldn't have been able to get Danny, Joe or those shows because they would have been performing in their respective theatres at the time the segment is filmed. Plus, Beverley's version of 'Memory' is amazing.

Not necessarily with an ex-contestant, but it would be an opportunity to present a MT performance.
