I just hope the staging for Monster is the same as it was on Broadway. The US tour and Australian productions (and I'm guessing all future productions) obviously had to remove the growing ice spikes since they couldn't have trapdoors but the way they replaced it was horrendous. No. They are gone.

so what are the big changes for london? They’ve cut that horrible ballad True Love thank goodness. Let it go end of act one gets a staircase Ice spikes removed from monster (maybe rolled on instead?) A new duet song for Anna/Elsa called “I Can’t Lose You” Kristoff is also given a reprise of “What Do I Know About Love?” to better express his growing feelings for Anna. The second-act opener “Hygge” is trimmed down (or maybe cut?) And hopefully MUCH more A good read www.londonboxoffice.co.uk/news/post/frozen-musical-london

No. They are gone. …. Well that’s a huge disappointment. The original staging for the song was so dramatic and stunning. The new staging for it is really boring and drags out a song that’s meant to be important to Elsa’s character development.

Very sad that a better show isn’t opening Drury Lane. Hopefully this won’t be hanging around too long (like it’s short Broadway run)

Agreed I saw it on Broadway and it just doesn't work as an engaging piece of theatre. It's much more of a Beauty and the Beast (ala just put the film on stage with the same design and the same orchestrations) compared the majestic theatrical experience of Taymor's The Lion King. It's almost like it's embarrassed to be theatre? Michael Grandage just wasn't right for this sort of material and I think everyone else knows it apart from him.

You may think that, but I would choose to see Frozen over The Lion King any time. Yes, the opening of TLK is spectacular, but past that I was bored. Whereas of the five shows I saw in New York a couple of years ago, Frozen was second only to Beetlejuice for me.

Personally I'm absolutely thrilled we're getting Frozen. Couldn't give a damn about the movie but saw the show in New York and absolutely loved it. Best child performer I've ever seen as Young Anna, gorgeous costumes (this coming from someone who makes costumes), excellent new songs. I wish it a long and prosperous run over here

Give me the original production of BatB over TLK any day. As previously said, TLK is boring after the first 10 mins. BatB had some great new songs added for the stage version, the designs were great, it had big spectacle and the transformation scene was amazing.

The Frozen set looks like Oxford Street in December.

Shrek was a big fat flop on Broadway, despite kind reviews.
Shrek then came to the same theatre as Frozen and turned it into a big hit over here, so guessing Disney I hoping for the same.

From Baz in the Daily Mail
"It's not a blueprint of what we did in America,' Grandage agreed. Designer Christopher Oram has built a sprawling staircase and a bridge, for Elsa's icy monument. 'There's a new ice palace, for God's sake!' he cried. 'And new icicles!!'
The musical — the biggest new show to open this year — will be the flagship production; more awesome than its namesakes in Australia, Japan and the U.S."

I’m fully expecting this to be a vast improvement on the show I saw in NYC.
I wasn’t going to bother seeing it, but I’ve heard that many changes have been made (as well as new set pieces) so have booked tickets now. Also very much want to see the refurbished ‘Lane’ very much.

Yes I'm excited to see the gorgeous building!
Has anyone used the o2 priority on any of the LW theatres for the VIP lounge, any reviews on it?

I am really keen to see this. The London cast seem a lot stronger than the Broadway one. I really couldn’t stand Patti Murin as Anna. I didn’t like her voice and her attitude in real life is even worse, no where near nice enough to be a Disney princess. I think Samantha will kill the role of Elsa and Steph looks much better than Patti as Anna. Will hopefully pick up some tickets further into the run!

What do you hate about her attitude ? want the gossip My main reason for not thinking so highly of her is when she went on a massive anti-bootleg tirade last year. She started off by just spewing the regular arguments against it which is fine, but then she publicly called out one fan in particular, they had an exchange and then she deleted all of her tweets citing that it had an effect on her mental health, without caring that the person she was calling out was now getting attacked. She then went on to sub tweet one of her own cast members, Ciara, who only got to play Elsa a few times before the show closed, and called her out for posting a clip of a bootleg of her singing Let it Go. Just uncalled for. If you feel so strongly about it, speak to her privately, don’t make a show of it all over social media.
