I really enjoyed Kirstie Skivington as Anne - it's a tough ask to match Cassidy who is so brilliant in the role, but I thought Kirstie was great. I agree that Grace is not really a match for Miriam, vocally or acting wise.

Have to agree. I Found Grace to be vanilla beyond belief, and Skivington great. Its a fun show elevated to good when the full cast are on.

I saw Grace Mouat last February as Juliet and - sorry Six fans - thought she was way way out of her depth. I do hope they’re going to get someone as good as Miriam for the cast change. Good luck with that. The Ann Hathaway stand in was also on. Sorry.. not a patch on Cassidy Janson. Having watched a bootleg of the show with Grace in, i agree that she seemed out of her depth with the vocals. Even more so having seen Miriam in it previously. I'm kinda surprised they're recasting, i assumed the 12 weeks was till closing.

Jordan has confirmed his final show is March 26th.
He's also on holiday from 6th to 8th January and from 14th to 16th February.

Seems to be another show that’s going down to a 6 show week from w/c 17th Jan for 4 weeks.
Tickets no longer on sale for Monday and Tuesday (bar one week). Though I did have tickets to one of the dates and haven’t had any cancellation notice yet.
EDIT now have
We are very sorry that due to the ongoing impact of the current Omicron outbreak, we have had to reduce the number of performances of & Juliet over the upcoming weeks. As a result, the following performances have been cancelled: Monday 17 January Wednesday 19 January Monday 24 January Tuesday 25 January Tuesday 1 February Wednesday 2 February Monday 7 February Tuesday 8 February This is a not a decision taken lightly, but one which is necessary under the current circumstances. We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment which this may cause.

Very... unexpected. When it says she'll be joining Miriam & Cassidy, does that mean they're staying on?

It’s star casting rather than stunt casting, a musical theatre star with some extra fame from The Greatest Showman’s success, although that was a while ago now. I always thought they missed a trick not having her reprise Becky for Waitress in London at some point, This Is Me & Greatest Showman was still very much in people’s minds when that show opened and she could have put a few more much needed bums on seats. The show is lucky to have such a fabulous performer join but it does seem a bit of a thankless role for her being a replacement for a quite small part. Will definitely go to see her though, I love the show and I love Keala Settle.

It's a great part for a great actress though - Melanie La Barrie all but walks away with the show with her performance

I'd much rather see her as Ann, should Cassidy leave. Its a bigger role and some songs she can get her teeth into.

I think it's odd for a relatively well-known actress to do a replacement in a supporting role. I'm guessing they're going to have her do it in London and then she'll originate the role in the US when it opens there.

Dates certainly line up with a mid June opening in Toronto (as long as the Canadian government stop with their archaic Covid approach).

Keala moved here for theatre in London so I don't think she'll be moving back to the US anytime super soon - she's only just got here!

Keala will be fab!
Is Melanie, LEAVING LEAVING? She has been with the show since workshop stage (I saw her, and then twice during previews; she did grow on me a lot)
I just hope it's not the Waitress debacle of replacing Laura Baldwin with Ashley Roberts (PCD)?
(there's a small hint of irony with the Waitress thing... ;-))

I guess that Miriam hasn’t done enough shows to be bored of it yet? 😏

Out of interest how do recasts/cast changes normally work, is it always the actors choice whether to stay or not?
Assuming it is, it must be a very difficult decision at the moment - do you stay in something you might be slightly bored of but is regular pay and is London (touring must be pure hell atm) or do you look for new challenges / avoid being typecast etc etc I guess age, profile, billing/pay and longer term ambitions must all come into it. I was always surprised someone like Oliver Thornton stayed with Priscilla for three years but I bet it paid down the mortgage!

Seems a bit tight.
