I get a "video screen" style staging for this one.

Surely they're not going to be allowed to use all of those songs? Other people will have a say in whether to grant the rights or not, and I can't see Taylor Swift for one letting her songs be used as only part of a score to a jukebox musical...
Also not the type of music I'd prefer to hear Miriam sing - she has a killer voice that would be wasted on Britney-esque bubblegum pip!

Well the Britney songs are out as there is apparently a musical in the works anyway. I agree though, it'll be a bitch to get all the rights for this show. It'll make up the majority of the budget, watch. 😂😂

I would have thought they would have gone for Rachel John (maybe the did) so they could go off her ‘direct from Hamilton’ experience

Are there any clues as to who’s producing this?

David West Read has written about 20 episodes of Schitt's Creek - which isn't a bad pedigree. However he also wrote a truly terrible play called The Performers which played Broadway for 6 performances in 2012.

"hip hop, commercial, street dancers"... oh OK, well least we don't have any false illusion now, we kinda know what to expect.

Oh I fear this will join the legions of flops at the Shaftesbury, such as; Thoroughly Modern Millie, Daddy Cool, Bat Boy and The Far Pavillon.

Oh I fear this will join the legions of flops at the Shaftesbury, such as; Thoroughly Modern Millie, Daddy Cool, Bat Boy and The Far Pavillon. Napoleon, Out of The Blue, Lautrec or Peggy Sue Got Married. I don't know why but when I read about this, it somehow reminded me of Desperately Seeking Susan.

Doesn’t sound like something that can sell out the Shaftesbury and sustain a decent run but I wish it all the success, definitely sounds like I show I’ll get tickets for and see for myself.

I’ll definitely get a ticket. I’ve been dying to see more new originals on the West End, rather than the swell of transfers; if I don’t support this show then i’m a hypocrite! Plus Max Martin has so many hits so there’s no way the show won’t at least have some great music.

I like the idea of the show, i like Max Martin, i like Miriam, i like the creative team.....but this feels like an Other Palace show? Or a Southwark Playhouse show? Or at least small west end show? Initially at least. Going straight into a big west end theatre? Seems a bit odd.

In this sequel to Romeo & Juliet, Juliet gets over her supposed soul mate by running off to Paris with her best mates on a whirlwind trip of self-discovery.
Ermmmmm........say what now?

A musical loosely based on Romeo and Juliet where the Juliet expy doesn't die... nah, it'll never work...

Never heard of her
Never heard of the composer
Never heard of the show
Difficult theatre to fill
Still crying over Memphis closing!
I love new work but these seems to be in the wrong space I’m afraid.
Give it a few months before Pretty Woman goes there.....
