Why doesn’t he just retweet it 🤷♂️
Gotta be Adelphi, Gillian Lynne or Piccadilly right?

I'm thinking Adelphi or Gillian Lynne? I hope Adelphi. Gillian Lynne so versatile, I'd love to see it used more creatively next for a non proscenium show. It's not really been used to it's full potential since Cats. Total speculation but perhaps the short Waitress extension is as the Pretty Woman team will need the theatre from after that for their prep and get in +/- any theatre renovations they need to do beforehand.

Pretty Woman has had a day of announcements today as they have revealed the leads for their next production in Hamburg - there was a launch event today where they sang songs from the show.

Agreed! Was more just looking at what larger/usually musical-housing venues were available, I would have said the Prince Edward but Poppins is booking til March!

It’ll probably do well here because it’s a well known and super popular movie, but I think it’s such an average musical! It was a fun evening out but I didn’t come away thinking it’s a show I want to see again anytime soon. The score is okay but nothing memorable or special, but the biggest gripe for me was how cheap the set was! 😬 😆 I thought Andy Karl and Samantha Barks were good as the leads, but nothing particularly special, given the material. Be interesting to know if they’ll reprise the roles over here!
I wonder if this will move into the Adelphi and Waitress will close in December 😰

ATG are bringing it to the UK - I think it will be the Piccadilly. Death of a Salesman ends in January 2020.
The Adelphi is LW Theatres.

It does sound a bit as if it's a cash in on the massive popularity of the film; and the story and one liners carry it through with excellent performances from Barks and Karl. CD is pleasant. Serviceable I'd say but unremarkable. But hey, that's totally on trend currently (Mean Girls, Frozen, etc etc....)!!

There’s not really another suitable ATG venue though. Very strange - if you look on the Wikipedia page for West End Theatre, it lists upcoming shows, and it lists “Chicago” as an upcoming show for the Piccadilly!

Let’s just say that the production money went on smtg other than the set! 😜 I also think that a problem for the musician is that it’s impossible for anyone to top Julia Roberts in the role, and recreate that spark and charisma that she has .... Samantha Barks did a good job of it but she was really just doing her Samantha Barks thing and nothing more to me! But it’s still a fun night at the theatre so I hope it does well here 🙌

(Oh and as per tradition - how high is the stage? Will there be dayseats? What is the 2nd understudy list? Etc etc.) But more importantly, who is Ashley Roberts going to replace?

Honestly, yawn. Saw it on Broadway and it's fine, a bit of fun, but really wasn't clamouring for it to be on the West End.

No surprise it's going to be coming over, the West End are glutton for this kind of musical and they seem to do really well in the West End, judging by past shows such as Dirty Dancing, Fame, Saturday Night Fever, The Bodyguard and Grease etc.
Although I am glad it is coming over, hope it just lasts long enough for me to see it and not one of these shows that overstays their welcome. This show doesn't raise my blood pressure as much as Sunday in the Park did, that announcement put me on strong medication.
I would have thought it go into the Piccadilly.

The Piccadilly does make sense as it has a similar capacity to the Nederlander. I do wonder what that means for Moulin Rouge?

I’ll definitely see this next year, especially if Andy “woof!” Karl and Sam Barks transfer with it. Of all the Broadway shows that I wanted to come over I’d say this is pretty low in the order of preference (I’d sooner rather see The Prom, King Kong or Beetlejuice). I’ll probably keep my eyes open for rush tickets once open. Still I get SITPWG as a bonus though, so I can’t really complain

There isn't really a reason they couldn't announce the theatre if it was The Piccadilly. The fact they haven't perhaps suggests it's a theatre that currently houses something that's not announced it's closure yet?

Wait judging by this most recent tweet it looks like it’s not coming until Winter 2020 now 🤔 .... unless by Winter 2020 they just mean Jan/Feb!? I’m confused 😆

The US CD is a belter and very catchy...got it on a great deal with a certain rainforest-themed supplier.

Already pushed back...
Not surprised at all that this is coming over; this will easily run some cash over. Ofocurse I'd rather it stay where it is.
Judging by Winter 2020 do we think ATG will chuck it into the Savoy? The Savoy loves being clogged up with a movie musical; Legally Blonde, 9to5.
