Trying to book tickets by pressing proceed, but a box keeps coming up and saying "All seats within a socially distant group must be purchased". Is anyone else having this issue? If there is say a block of 4 showing then you have to buy all 4. Thank you so much! You were right! Bloody hell! Altogether it costs £390!

Just managed to get a single (£97.50!) ticket for matinee on saturday 12th. December, and cheap advance tickets on Avanti West Coast. RESULT!

Quick query. If anyone who booked opted for print at home tickets, have they been sent to you by email yet?

Don't think I've had any email tickets yet.
I booked for 24 Jan in the original scrum, but have now joined DMT+ and am hoping for 2 returns on Sat 12 Dec as I've booked the panto on Sun 13th.

Just checked my email and it says that all tickets will be despatched closer to the performance date. I'd expect them a couple of weeks before the show perhaps? At least 48 hours before anyway 😊

John Owen Jones recorded a special performance of Bring Him Home for yesterday's Remembrance Sunday episode of Songs of Praise.

Delighted to get the CD through the post today :-) Some performers I care for more than others, but is great to have a recording with Rob Houchen, definitely one my my fave Mariuses (Mari-i?) over the years.
Can anyone geekier than me shed any light on whether this is simply the soundtrack of the DVD release? Or has it been engineered and mixed especially for this audio release? Thanks.

Do we really see these concerts happening? I know rehearsals have started so there’s an assumption there, but will we just get hit with another lockdown on Dec 28th? (Bearing in mind I’m booked for the 29th!).

From the brief moments i’ve listened too it sounds like the same performance as the dvd with some small tweaks. It has probably been mastered differently for CD release than it would have been for the dvd. Largely very similar, could be some combinations of takes/performances eg for the lines Michael Ball fluffed on the livestream performance that were fixed for the dvd. Surprised they didn’t do more to try and cover Michael’s obvious vocal fatigue at moments

Annoying it doesn't say on the CD when it was recorded.

(Bearing in mind I’m booked for the 29th!). Tricky isn't it. Manchester in Tier 3 did allow theatre so long as all bubbled up - so I am really hopeful that it will. (That said I have had misplaced optimism since the start of this omnishambles)

(Bearing in mind I’m booked for the 29th!). I've been wondering the same thing. I'm booked for 5th Dec, so waiting patiently to see what the government announce for after 2nd Dec, when the current lockdown ends. Annoyingly my flights have been cancelled, so I need to book new ones but I'm a little reluctant until I know more. As you said, they started rehearsals just this week, and the set has been loaded into the theatre, so they seem to be going full steam ahead.

I got an email from Avanti WC saying my initial train for going to London had been cancelled due to a timetable change, so I'm now booked on the 10:15 train. Today I got another email saying no reservations on my train, just sit in the window seat and not the aisle seat. I managed to get down to The Smoke in August doing this, just not on Avanti, so I will make sure I get to Piccadilly in plenty of time. (Inveterate worry-wart that I am!)

There’s nothing wrong with being organised & punctual! I’m legendary for leaving myself far too much cautious wiggle room and always having a plan B. It costs far too much in London to do anything last minute! 😬

I currently have shows booked for the 6th, 7th and 8th December (the 8th being Les Mis) so I will be mightily annoyed if lockdown is extended!
They should be able to open if we go back to Tier 2 or even to Tier 3.

Bit more geekery. Am pleased that new CD contains almost all the sections that were cut from the Manchester Palace double CD. So pretty much entire show with 'new' (11 year old!) orchestrations now exists on one CD or the other.
The only section neither of them include is the bit after Stars featuring Marius and Eponine starting "of course now I remember, Cosette how can it be." Love the "Eponine do this for me, discover where she lives" to the melody of Little Fall of Rain section. I can't remember if that was actually in the staged concert, but perhaps it wasn't as think the double CD is the entire concert?

I think this new album has beaten out the 2010 tour one as my favourite LM recording. Everything sounds so crisp and slick. Carrie’s IDAD is flawless, as is Shan’s OMO. I’m not keen on Mike as Javert however.

It’s a gorgeous recording. The orchestrations sound brilliant.
But, as with all modern Les Mis, there is a rushed quality to a lot of the lines.
‘You will live, papa you’re going to live...’ ‘I love him but every day I’m learning...’
Etc.
Compare these to the OCR, Symphonic and 10th anniversary recordings.
It’s like the actors are rushing to get to the end!

Are we able to travel from different tiers? That's the information I'm waiting for. There are no tiers during lockdown, which ends on 2nd Dec, so it depends on the rules after that. It looks like a tougher 3-tier system will be introduced from 2nd Dec, so it remains to be seen if theatre is even allowed within that.

The new recording is almost unbearable to listen to. All that whooping... Matt Lucas playing Matt Lucas .. Michael Balls Vibrato....and Alfie Boe sounds like a caricature of someone playing an opera singer.

I like Matt Lucas, but turning Thenardier into a panto villain played for laughs doesn't do it for me.

Not sure what the latest news means for Les Mis. If London is in tier 3, all theatre will be cancelled. If it's tier 2, theatres are only allowed 50% capacity (or 1,000 people, whichever is lower). I believe Les Mis has sold at 70% capacity, which Cameron has previously said is necessary to cover costs.

They need to reduce the capacity each performance from 750 to 550 to fit in the new nonsense from Government.
Considering the entire run is sold out, this is gonna be interesting. Would not like to work at Delfont Mackintosh at the mo

CamMack should just move the whole shebang to the Prince Edward Theatre, with its 1,716 seats.
There, sorted in 30 seconds. I'll invoice him later.

There isn't, but the logistics of moving the seating to an entirely new seating plan in an entirely new theatre wouldn't be an absolute nightmare. Its a way of getting round it though.
