I wouldn't put any bets on for Actress in a Musical until Amber opens in Dreamgirls! As much as I'd like to see someone else get it, I think it'll take armageddon to stop Sheridan Smith winning it.

Whilst I agree, lets not forget Amber is singing that famous song in that famous scene that pretty much won both the Tony and the Oscar! I wouldn't be at all surprised, if Amber nails it, to see her win!

Glenn Close will be nominated for Sunset Boulevard, surely? Everyone's going all Imelda over her (as will I probably once I've seen it!) so I'd say she'll probably be a front runner next year!

I didn't think the London Coliseum productions were eligible? If it is, Glenn will no doubt win. It will be the Angela Lansbury slot.

It's not announced, the list only details those shows that have been officially announced at a specific venue. But when it is announced will there be enough time to get the requisite number of performances in? That very much depends on when it's announced for, at a guess.........

But when it is announced will there be enough time to get the requisite number of performances in? I thought Beautiful last year and Mrs Henderson Presents this year proved that you don't need to have done the requisite number of performances before the cut off date, you just have to be scheduled to do at least that number

Would the pantomime that's rumored for the London Palladium this year be eligible? Maybe Best Entertainment and Family, or even Best Comedy?
Provided it does more than 30 performances, which it should do easily if it's twice a day and runs for about 3 weeks minimum!

What pantomime at the palladium is this?? It's rumored that seeing as School of Rock has been pushed back to Spring 2017, (and rather than Cats returning for a third time) a panto is returning to the Palladium, from what's been said on here and its-behind-you.com (the pantomime forum), it's Cinderella. Supposedly with Dawn French or Kylie mentioned as the Fairy Godmother, with Julian Clary and Paul Zerdin.

It has been rumoured and yes if it does happen it will be a indelible stain, that will be there forever.

"An indelible stain that will be there forever"? Are you sure those are the right words for what you're intending to convey? After all, the continued joy and curse of theatre is that NOTHING is there forever. Except The Mousetrap, and even that changes cast every year like clockwork so it's never going to be exactly the same as it was no matter how hard it tries.

OK, so this might be obvious to some people, but be kind to me as it's my Birthday and allow me to ask:
What happens when plays are split in two like Harry Potter is? Do they just count as one? As I said, just not sure.

I'd assume they'll count as one for all intents and purposes. After all, when Roger Allam won Best Actor for his Falstaff, they didn't narrow it down to Henry IV Part 1 or Part 2. It's the same story, cast, creatives, crew, so there's no reason to give themselves extra work by scrutinising them individually.

I really hope The Spoils picks up a few nominations! It 100% deserves nominations for 'Best Play' and Jesse Eisenberg for 'Best Leading Actor in a Play'. Depending on other supporting actors this year, Kunal Nayyar also deserves a nomination, but that really depends on his competition.

American Idiot isn't eligible, apparently the Arts Theatre isn't represented by SOLT.
Does anyone know if Sunset Boulevard is eligible?
Also don't forget Finding Neverland! Alfie Boe and Kelsey Grammer are the only confirmed cast members so far.

Are places like the Charing Cross Theatre & the St James Theatre eligible? If Charing Cross is, then both Titanic & Death Takes A Holiday would be eligible for Best New Musical I guess (I see you've already included Ragtime)? And Radio Times, too - would that be under revival or has there not been a major London production before?
Don't think 1984 can be considered a "New" play considering this has been at the Playhouse for 2 (at least?) seasons before. If anything it would go in Play Revival, but doubt it'll get nominated!
Not quite sure where Daniel Radcliffe being in This House came from unless I missed that announcement? Maybe a bit of confusion as he's going to be in Privacy, a play by the same writer as This House, but that's in America.
Then, Motown is eligible for Best New Musical I would've thought? And if stuff at the National eligible, then wonder.land too. What about War Of The Worlds? That should also be eligible. The End of Longing should also be eligible, I've not seen it yet so don't know whether it's Best New Play or Best New Comedy. Is The Painkiller eligible? Best New Comedy?
