Bimini was just not right in the final lipsync. She took the song in a very angry direction whereas tonally it has been about being upbeat in the face of adversity.
The cossack dance was also out of place.
I would have put her third in that particular performance.
Lawrence winning felt right on the night. A more complete package.

I think we’ve all seen massive favouritism towards Lawrence from the start. Ru obviously loves her and as we see every time, its Ru’s show and she gets to choose. Bimini will do just fine, they all will.

As much as I wanted Bimini to win I actually mostly agree with you here (though I don't know if Lawrence was any better for me, he felt one note). To me Tayce won the episode hands down between the lip sync and the main stage performance which was electric, but there was no way she would win, this was definitely a two horse race.

I wish Tayce would connect her lipsync performances to the content of the lyrics more consistently. She falls back on throwing herself around and a gym routine. I know that is a very US approach and we see it a lot on the US show.
But I want to see a queen living the song, showing that she gets the tone and meaning. Sometimes Tayce does that. But too often we get generic drag dance.

I agree with so many of the comments to the lypsync battles they are very much the same each week ..... and often the performance doesn’t convey them tone of the song etc ... it’s all kicks drops rolling around on the floor etc etc yawn yawn .... many of them think because they watch makeup tutorial on you tube and watched every season of drag race .... they know everything and invented drag It’s drag race U.K. and should show more of the talented performers we have in this country I remember way back in the mid 90s seeing my first drag show in USA in a vey famous drag bar it was rammed. Full to the rafters lasted 3 hours one by one they would come on yep they looked good expensive wigs etc etc but each one just came out and mimed to a song ... never been so bored in my life ... no comedy ? No real talent no act ... the local crowd went mad for them ? I sat there and thought give me David dale , titti la camp . Dockyard Doris , and the likes anyday 👍

I thought Bimini had it but that lipsync was terrible.
Tayce didn’t deserve top three. He’s long and lanky and reminds them of a catwalk model: that’s it, that’s his gig.
For 21 Ellie did amazing and should have got top 3 out of those four.
I loved Laurence, he had a journey and really struggled. Like a lot of the comedy queens the pressure to be funny was an obstacle.
I loved Bimini, the comedy, the fashion and the grotesque.
I’m happy her and Laurence were top two and I don’t mind after that.
Laurence and Ellie really represented Scotland well though, they were very polished for Queens that don’t really have a drag scene where they are from. I think that’s what they said something about £15 for performing.
The bug of the season was Ahora and Laurence meltdowns over Ellie’s placing of the comedy.

The first drag show I saw was in Vegas in the 90s and I was so shocked that all they did was lip sync. Very unimpressed, but that’s the difference between UK and US drag. As Lola Lasagne said, it’s all very well coming out and looking fabulous, but what are you going to do for the other 59 minutes? You’ve got to have an act.

I think if there's impressive dancing to go along with it then lip-syncing is good enough. Just look at some of the old clips of Tamisha Iman that were circulating while she was on the show, or her drag daughter who did the stunt dropping down from the ceiling (and the rest of that performance is strong enough on its own)! Sounds like you just saw some poor quality routines unfortunately.

Lypsinka used lip synching but in such a unique way, that was intelligent and political. Nowadays anyone can throw on a wig and lip synch. While these acts can be fun, I find the scene saturated by Queen's who look great and can lip sync. Give them a mic and they would put you to sleep. The problem I have is they literally just take the song at face value and imitate the artist. There is no creativity akin to Fanny Brice and the baby bump in Funny Girl. I want more like Bianca Del Rio, Sherry Vine and Lady Bunny and the likes.

I see the U.K. cast are on tour at ATG venues later this year, including the Palace MCR. Which is fine, good luck to them. I won’t be going because I don’t think drag translates that well to big theatres.. These queens are used to playing to a couple of hundred people in a club, I don’t think you can automatically assume that being able to do that means you can command the stage of a thousand seat theatre. .
When I saw Bianca she was in a show with Lady Bunny, Sherry Vine and Jackie Beat. Four consummate professionals and legends of drag, and even so they and their show looked very very small.

Oh no totally I just read the comments as dismissing lip-syncing entirely or I guess maybe I should say misread, rereading them I see that wasn't really what you were getting at.

I saw Bianca in Manchester in a theatre (can't remember the name) and thought it worked. Sherry Vine was on the tour but we saw Moyra Dubois who also was very funny. Surrounded by straight girls. Edit: It's a dream of mine to get to San Francisco to see the Peaches Christ shows at the Castro Theatre.

No, I genuinely love lip synching but I see it as a vehicle to something deeper. Like Britney mimes as Britney I don't need to see a Drag pretending to be Britney unless it's an impersonator. I hope that makes sense. I don't know if it does to me haha

Very sad to hear of the passing of Cherry Valentine.
A talented queen and taken far too young.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Cherry Valentine. A talented queen and taken far too young. Utterly shocked by this, poor Cherry. She was absolutely lovely on the show. A really honest, down to earth person with a big heart and a charming personality. Really sad :-( Can't quite believe I saw her at the end of the S2 tour at would become one of her final shows....

I’ve put on the Snatch Game episode of Drag Race UK vs The World and I’m just 🙀. This is absolute complete and utter dreck.
