Would think Baz will tell us. He’s more likely to have a scoop on this.
ENO sounds like a weird choice for it though... I’d go, but it doesn’t scream to me a show that would sell well in the venue

I mean, sure Bat played there, but just the name of that album alone is iconic and could sell off the power of that?

ENO or Curve - that means a trip to the Curve from London then! Have been hoping for this one to come over, I'm not a massive fan of juke box musicals but for Gloria Estefan's music I'll live with it - unless, of course, she plans some concerts in the UK at the same time.

ENO are mainly based at the London Coliseum. I could be wrong but I doubt ENO are staging it. Perhaps they have rented out the space like Bat out of hell and the upcoming Glen Miller show

I hope I'm proved wrong but I can't see it going to the ENO. Their summer musicals so far have been well known musicals that show off the ENO orchestra on the stage. I don't think this musical lends it's style to a large orchestra performing it. Also it's a monster of a theatre to fill. This has been proved with Chess. 2 big names, fairly well known show and yet they can't fill the place every night.

Surprised at how great of a guest she is- rather excited to watch her on Graham Norton tonight!
Anyone else think that this show is rather small- I don't think it'll face a problems selling tickets, but the Coliseum is BIG and this show looks so small; I just wonder if the Coliseum will dwarf it further?!

Kinda weird though for it do be doing just seven performances at Curve. So is that basically just the previews? But why couldn't they do that at the coliseum? Not that i'm complaining about the show coming to my local, it just seems weird.

I am amazed the ENO are doing this to themselves again after apparently trashy audiences from Bat and Chess.
I am not sure what the market for this is, she's had a few good tunes but she's no Tina

Well a few of my mates are well up for this, but they’re all female late 30s/early 40s who grew up with her music.

she's had a few good tunes but she's no Tina Sold! Leaving Adrienne aside then anything would be preferable to the contrived cluster**** of TinaTM. Anyway there were more slow dances to Gloria.....

Well it's one I will want to see as long as the price is right. Still think its a huge place to fill for this show but good luck to them. Presumably limited run.

Looking at Ticketmaster it's showing some stalls and dress at £59.40 with upper and balcony at £21.80 but there are also premiums at £195.50 and everything inbetween price wise. Also Sunday performances and no show on Mondays.

I don’t think anyone under 30 realises how important Gloria Estefan is to so many of us. Her music played such a vital role in the 80’s and early 90’s. I’m SOOOO glad it’s coming over. I adored it on Broadway.

I'm only gonna go because it looks fun based on videos of the musical. But I don't know if I can see this selling that well in that big a venue for however long, especially considering alot of younger people really don't seem to know either who she is or how big she was in the 90's. I'm hopeful though to be proven wrong and some older people will of course go and sustain it.

I adored it on Broadway. Which is fair enough, the over 30s have the money. I am 30, like a few of her tunes but her story just doesn't seem that dramatic (happy to be proved wrong) to justify a book that will work with her songs. She's just never struck me as very interesting, it would be like doing a Celine Dion musical. I am hoping it isn't a serious Tina! style thing but I think there are a lot more artists I would have expected a jukebox musical from before I even thought of Estefan.

For people interested in seeing this show in Leicester who don't want to pay the earth to see it ticket prices at Curve start at £10 and go up to £35 for 'top price' seats according to their website, which seems very reasonable considering Miss Saigon/Les Mis and Matilda have been around the £60 mark - granted different producers etc.
Discounted tickets will also be available: £20* Under 16s £25* 16 – 26 yrs £2.50 off for over 60s and registered unemployed £4 off for Groups 20+ 15% off for Members

I am not sure what the market for this is, she's had a few good tunes but she's no Tina It’s not an English National Opera production. ENO have rented out the the Coliseum, the theatre they own and predominantly use. The rental for this will stage various operas such as works by Janacek and Wagner

Lots of promotion for this one already, they are lucky to have Gloria so involved.
