If anybody is going to the first preview tomorrow, would you mind taking a photo / note of the merch and prices and letting us know please? I’m going next week and would like to be prepared with how much money I’m going to spend 😂 Thank you :-) I’ve answered my own question! Merch prices below. They’ve already sold out of tote bags and at £10 I’m not surprised. I’ll go from cheapest to dearest. Programme £5 (good old Nimax) Magnet £5 Keyring £10 Fan £10 Mug £10 Tote bag £10 Set of 3 pins £12 Cast CD £20 Logo t shirt (London specific) £25 Pullover longsleeve jumper £45 Cast vinyl £60 As per the info I shared the other day, the audience also received a free west end premiere badge also but these were only in the main stalls foyer after the show (not there in the interval neither any in the circles nor balcony) so easy to miss.

Still intrigued as to who buys tote bags? People in education who need something to carry their books in? People that want to buy something but don’t want to sell a kidney to buy a hoodie?

Visually breathtaking.
Melanie is a wonderful Hermes - vocally, acting wise and storytelling wise.
The Fates were fascinating to watch, snake like and moving in perfect unison.
Gloria was perfection as Persephone; powerful voice, sense of fun, gravitas when needed.
Alas both Eurydice and Orpheus underwhelmed. Grace was shrill and at times flat, and lacked sweetness to her voice, which was especially noticeable during Flowers. Donal was fine: struggled with some of the high notes. Neither, I thought, had much stage presence and I found myself much more fascinated by all of the other characters.
Melanie was the scene stealer for me.

Agree with everything but the comments on Grace, her Eurydice was beautiful!

On Broadway you got the tote bags cheaply when you bought something else, I have two of them and love to carry them around and carry my favourite show with me.
Are these proper mugs or the same metal (probably plastic) mugs they have on Broadway?

If anyone is interested in the Vinyl it’s £10 cheaper direct from HMV - I have it and it’s beautiful!

I hadn't planned to get any merch, but the shirt was actually so beautiful I couldn't resist.
I saw the show 4 times at the National, and was a little disappointed last night. Compared to the National, it feels like they only have half the ensemble and half the musicians. Did they downsize it for Broadway? Many of my favourite scenes lost much of their power.
I was especially disappointed by Hades, who felt like a pantomime villain for much of the show.

I think this is the tension I'm sitting with, I saw the show pretty well mounted with all the original cast (whom despite my reservations about the show as a whole, were all excellent) at the Nash, I'm much more familiar with the music now so may enjoy seeing it again but is there any reason to go and see this? Will I only be disappointed?

Did any of you who went last night successfully pick up a free west end premiere badge?
Which level were you on?

I’m on the dress circle level when I go tomorrow, so fingers crossed! But it won’t be the premiere tomorrow 🤣 The email I got from Hadestown itself said that anybody going to a show pre press night would be offered a badge. The badge doesn’t have the date just says ‘Feb 2024’ which covers all bases.
