The play was in like with what we've come to expect from Florian Zeller who, I have to say, has become over the past few years a fine addition to contemporary theatre. His work is thematically and stylistically quite narrow and always concerned with perspectives and interpretation. It will be interesting to see as time passes if he expands on this. Maybe he won't need to; plenty of playwrights crafted a career on writing distinctive plays. But second all that's been said about Pryce and Atkins. An honour to be able to see them together on stage still at the top of their game. Agree with you. Will be interesting to see him over the next decades to see what he produces. Yesterday's evening performance, another A5'er. Thought this excellent, only my second 5* this year (St Nicholas with Brendan Coyle the other). Set and lighting was really good. Jonathan Pryce is really good as ever and the first time I have seen Eileen Atkins. What a treasure she is to see at this stage of her career. Really liked the writing, I thought it was clever and thought provoking.

Murmurings of a Broadway transfer heading to the Friedman Theatre in 2019. Makes sense, since the Broadway transfer of Zeller's "The Father" was also done by the Manhattan Theatre Club at the Friedman. Any murmurings as to whether Pryce and Atkins will be coming over with it?
