A tweet Jodie has replied to seems to suggest that one of the shows (I presume the matinee) was a witch switch!

Jodie Steele was on as Elphaba for both shows (1st October, 2016). Jodie went on as Elphaba mid-show during the matinee and also did the evening show (2nd October, 2016) Corrected

I guess they'll stay in (SE-)Asia for a while before returning to Europe (if at all). Wouldn't make much sense to ship the set from the UK to Asia back to Europe and then once again to Asia.

I hope they come to Europe at some point though. Otherwise they should have just called it an Asian Tour

Judging by tweets it seemed that Jodie was on as Elphaba on Wednesday!

Jodie doesn't seem to be tweeting her dates at the moment, but judging by who she has replied to and who has tweeted her, I think so far this week she has been on:
Wednesday 12th October Thursday 13th October both shows Sunday 19th October
Think last week she was just on for one show, the matinee on Sunday 9th.

Her microphone cut out for a few seconds (during one of the worst possible moments of the song) but anyway!

The tour is going to Istanbul from October 11- November 5 2017. It's kind of weird they suddenly announce dates for late next year, but I'm glad they're getting close to Europe.

A few countries spring to mind: Korea (Seoul), Australia (Sydney/Melbourne), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Taiwan (Taipeh). Maybe also Japan (Tokyo/Osaka)

I really hope they don't spend the entire tour in Asia. Well, my best guest is that Istanbul is the first (?) stop of the European leg of this tour and that some of these stops will be between Shanghai and Istanbul. The new UK and Ireland tour commences in February 2018, so assuming four week stops, that'd leave room for three more stops in Europe (one each in November, December and January) before returning to the UK.

Possibly. I'd prefer some more stops in Europe. I think it's a shame that they'll do relatively little stops for a global tour.

So by way of update...
* Singapore 29th September to 20th November 2016 (originally October but extended to November)
* Hong Kong 8th December to 1st Jan 2017
* Wicked Manilla opens 2 February 2017 to 5th March 2017
* Shanghai 11th April to 21st April 2017 (originally thought to be May but website updated)
* Istanbul 11th October to 5th November 2017
* Back to UK/Bristol - February 2018
Wonder why Shanghai has reduced to a couple of weeks? There must be another date due in China otherwise it's seems a lot of expense to get visas and truck everyone there for a short run....

Saw the show in Hong Kong on Sunday.
Wicked is my favourite musical and I’ve seen it before in London during 2011-13. It’s hard not to compare. The scale was downsized and they had to make the usual adaptations (e.g. no trap door in NGD). But I have to say this tour production is pretty spectacular overall. I don’t think I have been to a show here in Hong Kong where people applauded harder.
Carly Anderson stole the show as Glinda. She is hilarious with just the right mix of innocence and vulnerability. I really love her interpretation. And Bradley Jaden, what a voice! It’s so refreshing to see a Fiyero with long hair too.

Does anyone know if this tour has surtitles? no surtitles! Hmm. I have no problem whatsoever understanding it, but this might be a reason why it won't visit some countries. Although most people in my country normally do understand English.
