Shouldn’t the drive in be a thread of its own? Cast members have said on Instagram Lives its a separate project to their contracts at the Arts Theatre and on the UK Tour

So do we have actual cast announcements?
Has anyone left from the main London cast?
I see Vicki seems to be back on some of the posters.

All we know is Lexi won’t be doing the tour as she has her son to look after and it would be unfair for her to make him isolate with the rest of the cast. However this doesn’t mean she’s left Six permanently as it’s a separate commitment to their actual show contracts (as confirmed by Courtney on Instagram) But Lexi aside, everybody else seems to be going on tour

Yeah I don’t think Sophie Isaacs got a photo shoot as she came in mid-contract.

Has it been announced how many rows of cars there will be? I’m not sure but I think I read somewhere there is capacity for 300 cars.

I’m gutted and littlest is in floods of tears right now. I’ve promised we’ll go to the theatre again and see the show when we get the chance but the first thing littlest was doing every morning was asking Siri how many days there were until 4th August.
I might hold off buying tickets for JCS now until it’s up and running in case this happens with that too.

What a shame. I was really looking forward to it, had persuaded my dad to go as I don't have a car. I hate this year.

I find this so sad and frustrating because I don't really 'get' the decision to cancel everything. I understand why sitting in a theatre might be a massive risk right now but sitting in a car outside, socially distanced from the rest of the audience seemed like a fairly safe option. I don't get what's changed since they announced it

I don't get what's changed since they announced it Because its not only about you. the audience. you have tech crew, venue staff, electricians, production staff and everyone else involved with the making it happen nightly. With the numbers going up, in certain places, it's the right decision to make.

I don't get what's changed since they announced it It seems to be about the risk of dates being cancelled due to local lockdowns rather than risk to people attending or those involved in the production. Clearly the news has come as a complete surprise to those involved with Six. One of the quotes from the Six production team says that: That, combined with the explanation from Kenny Wax in The Guardian article about cancellation insurance, would seem to hint at what is most likely the reason behind the whole series of drive-in events being pulled. On a personal level, this had been a real boost having some theatre to look forward to over recent weeks. It feels like it's going to be a very long summer again now. How incredibly sad for all involved.

I don't get what's changed since they announced it Some of the cities that the Drive In were going to are high risk and could very possibly end up in local lockdowns, which could make things very difficult. There’s the argument of why didn’t they just cancel those cities, but while it’s obviously very disappointing I don’t think you can really begrudge them for putting safety first. (I would think finances and insurance play a part too)

I understand it's not all about me, but all of that was the case when they planned and announced it too, which is why I didn't get why it had now changed. I suppose I haven't really been keeping track of numbers going up in certain areas which is why this came as such a surprise. Local lockdown is a real threat. It is clear theatre, on the whole has given up on London but all the hope for the regions (who have suffered major losses) may also go with this plan. What other options do they have if a second wave however localised looms large.

Two casts ready to go. Indoor performances allowed from August first.
Get this production into one of the larger London venues and perform it to 3-400 a show. Adelphi and Savoy both empty. Surely it’s better than having them sit empty for a year?

Surely it’s better than having them sit empty for a year? I don't think moving venues is that simple, they still have an agreement with the Arts Theatre which they'd have to pay off in order to move but also there's a risk they'd end up having to move again if the owners of both theatres have something lined up next year.

It can be as simple or as difficult as they want to make it. As long as the Arts still get something out of it, it is surely more than nothing. Likewise, if wherever it went had something else lined up it’s hardly the ‘Bat Out of Hell‘ set is it? “Here, carry these sparkly flats down the road“ we’re moving again. It is the perfect touring show all wrapped up with a bow & ready to go, and could even do two show days every day with the double cast available. It just takes will and perhaps a bit of compromise.

I know its easy for us sitting at home but this does seem a good idea. Even if they have to adapt it to Six 'in concert' it seems an ideal one to adapt as it starts with a small cast. I think it is the introduction back in to theatre we need. I think it would be more likely if it was already in an LWTheatres house as ALW seems keenest to get going and I feel he could make the swap happen.

Well, today would've been cast change day. Already, Natalie, Courtney and Danielle have confirmed they would've been leaving today.
