Wonder how this is booking? Bend it bend it I understand it has approx 6.5-7 million advance Also what has happened to the first 4 previews 27/28/30/31 May Cancelled? Sold out I think although I could be wrong. Given how heavily Disney have marketed this, I think they're expecting to do very well

Given how heavily Disney have marketed this, I think they're expecting to do very well It's round the corner from Harry Potter Which is basically sold out anyway To be honest these will be THE 2 shows to see in the WE and I can see Aladdin being even more successful here than on Broadway We have been relatively starved of new Disney theatrical shows as few seem to make the transfer to London They don't do anything by halves and the production values are quite the best in the industry It could be the most profitable area per square foot in London theatre for years to come!!

Saw the time-lapse video of the set build of this show yesterday, and can't help but feel that the set looks ever so slightly...cheap.

According to a chat with DM customer service just now, they are happening. Mind you, they could be imposters who have been planted by a minority looking for revenge after their sacred cow was ridiculed then put to sleep, along with it's audience.

Me and my friend will go to the opening night on 15 June. We have never been to an opening night on this scale before. Will all the guests who attend the performance walk the red (or in this case purple) carpet or is it for invited guests exclusively and those who regularly booked their tickets will be guided in through a different entrance?
On the website, it says the performance begins at 7pm and guests should be seated by 6:30pm. How early in advance should we be at the Prince Edward to not miss out on any of the pre-show red carpet buzz/publicity?

Semi-related.
It is about time someone brought over the musical Twisted. It is essentially Alladin meets Wicked, with Jafar being a good person trying his best to create a better Agrabah and it's horrid people. Made by the Potter musical guys, you can watch the whole thing on YouTube. The first number has me in stitches every time.

I think it will do ok here.. But it won't and can't do better than it does on Broadway. Our tickets are nowhere as expensive as there so it won't raid in the same ££s.

Easy for people to shoot off on here
I wonder how many actually put their money where their mouth is
And invest in shows

You gave a good reason why not to invest in shows and that being that th show you invested in lost all its investment. It's a crapshoot.
The Broadway show will make more money at the box office in New York tickets are more expensive, it's true! However to costs to put a show on in New York are a lot more, with all those exhubant wages and hanger On my way!, also all the development cost were done in America that included two expensive try outs.

With a cost of roughly 40 and selling tickets for as low as £15, that's the facts in black and white, why it never made any money.

I'm guessing you've put money in this Parsley, given you attended a rehearsal room run too? Smart move if so, can't see a Disney show not recouping.
As far as it looking cheap, the technical side certainly isn't (those moving lights are bloody expensive, and require a great deal of maintenance as well). Remember the time lapse was taken during working light, and lighting a piece of set right can make a world of difference. Really hammers home how small the wings are in the time lapse, barely any space between loading dock and playing space.
EDIT: And we are all talking, I've helped stage a lot of shows too. Don't think that has any bearing on what I think a show looks like or not tbh.

Tonight's invited dress was cancelled at the last minute. Anyone know why? I think tonight was also an invited dress as I've seen tweets about other people going tonight but yes it was cancelled at the last minute but can't see why?! Sounds ominous.

Have they cast this with authentic middle eastern actors or have they whitened it up?

I can already sense that carpet becoming the new glass elevator. Are people gonna believe a block raising from the ground as the carpet whilst they fix it? Haha
