Over 18s only for some reason if any one else under 18 like me was thinking to go. Seems a bit stupid because I'm sure Eva has a lot of teenage fans, maybe next time...

I'm guessing it's because of the venue which would have licencing regulations. It's a sort of nightclub really.

She also has a show booked in Dundee of all places in January. It would be bril to see her live show, however 260 miles is a bit far for me to travel. She will be travelling from New York, I guess.

Result!! Dundee, I had to check I read that right, how random. I'm not complaining though, It's brilliant for me. I'm in Perth which is 30 minutes down the road from Dundee so not far at all. I've just booked now. Thanks so much for the info, With Miss Saigon in Edinburgh and now Eva in Dundee, January is shaping up to be a great theatre month for me!!

Well I don't know if I'd have paired that jacket with those chinos but good for them. Cute photo.
Did they invite Kim Jong-un though?

I saw Eva's show last night in Dundee. I was a big fan anyway but honestly this exceeded all my expectations. She was just phenomenal! Anyone going tonight is in for a treat! I have put more detailed thoughts in spoiler tags so anyone going tonight can go in blind as I did if you want. {Spoiler - click to view} First of all that opening number (can't remember what it was called anyone know?) was just beautiful, talk about chills. Loved her rendition of Fly Me To The Moon as well, always loved that song.
I thought it was very brave of her but also such a good thing that she was so open and honest about her struggles with anxiety and bulimia during the first few months of Miss Saigon. She's right when she said that people don't Mental Illness enough. Because in my opinion there is still a massive stigma that surrounds it and speaking as someone has suffered with massive social anxiety and depression, It is always good to hear someone famous or with a wider audience than Joe Bloggs talking about Mental Illness and shearing there experiences with it , as that then encourages people to talk about it which is always a good thing.
I also didn't realise quite how funny she is as a person and very, very likeable as well. Another highlight was her "Deva Melody" which was a melody of loads of different musical theatre songs of roles she'd like to play. This included an amazing bit of "Satisfied" (surely Angelica or even Eliza is a role she has to play at some point. please theatre gods make it happen!), a hilarious "Carnaval del Barrio" and "Maybe This Time" where she somehow managed to put more emotion into a 30 second snippet, then Louise Redknapp could muster for a whole 2 hour performance! (Still annoyed about that!) Anyway overall a fantastic night and I think she has probably won some fans judging by the enthusiastic response throughout and the standing ovation at the end. It was also great to meet her at stage door. She was lovely! I was surprised by the amount of people waiting as well I counted about 30. I just hope we don't completely lose her to Broadway and that she does still does some work in London, but sadly I think that’s less likely now. Still I was immensely impressed and hope I get to see her again somewhere down the line in something as I think she’s an enormous talent and has a great future ahead of her.

I can only second what Pennywise57 already said. The Dundee concert was great, Eva has a fantastic onstage presence and a fantastic sense of humour. It was worth the trip over Tay Bridge to listen to her sing.

If anyone’s going tomorrow can you please report back? I’m assuming it will be very similar to the Jazz Café and Dundee concerts.

Another fab little gig at Zedel, it's such an intimate venue and great to see world class talent up close (that makes it sound like a zoo).
Eva was great, her voice was flawless and the song selection ranged from Amy Winehouse to Smash to Frank Sinatra to a Diva medley (or a D-Eva medley as she calls it) and of course Saigon.
My only negative is that the gig was o lt an hour, even with the extra song as an encore. Zedel has burned me before like this (Kerry Ellis' gig in August was an hour and 10 minutes). Yes the tickets are cheap (for London) and the intimacy of tuw gig is really special, but can they not make it at least 90 minutes? I don't think I was the only person who wanted a bit more. But still, anyone going to the two other dates, you're in for a treat 😁

For singers doing original material early in their careers then gig length can be an issue but for a musicals star doing effectively covers then the set could be a bit longer. But if it is much over an hour then it can often be split into two halves of 40 to 45 minutes each as people may want loo or venue likes the interval to sell more drinks.

Eva did a great gig and we all know she can belt out a tune but she swears like a trooper, names and shames people in the industry who has had issues with, she managed to break the music stand and started doing a tap dance whist sound engineer repaired it. She has a naturally funny personality and a new short bob hair cut.
She did a 30 mins and a 35 mins set - song choices were pretty much what Robert213 indicated but she never phoned them in and she seem to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere dressed casually in loose trousers (for climbing onto a stool) and a fitted black leotard type top, possibly braless but I'm too much of a gentle man to look too closely.
She got a standing ovation and despite not having any merch was back out by the stage on 5 mins after coming off to chat, hug, kiss, sign and do selfies. I did the first 4 only!
65 minutes for £26 was a bit steep but it is in a room only holding 80 odd I'd guess and it was about 80% full but Eva gave a fun and unexpectedly feisty concert so if you see any more advertised I'd say give it a shot if you like Saigon and a good young star who will likely go onto bigger things.

I’ve just put a ticket for sale on the noticeboard for the Magic of Animation concert next weekend if anyone wants a cheap one - it’s in the stalls and it’s not much money!!

I noticed that she's not in the cast of King Kong on Broadway after doing a reading with the show. I wonder if she's going to stick around the West End.
