Saw Jane many years ago in the west end when she was the nurse in Romeo and Juliet the musical. Even have a mini cd with her song on it!Would love her to be in the Palladium panto, she has the voice to fill that theatre.

New series due to start this Friday, 9th February, at 9pm on Channel 5. Shall we have a sweep on how many references to Wakefield there are?

Are we all prepared for Ms McDonald's new insightful travelogue??
"Jane heads to California, boarding a 3,000-berth cruise liner in Los Angeles which plots a course for San Francisco"
Lets have some bets on her final song!

New series due to start this Friday, 9th February, at 9pm on Channel 5. Shall we have a sweep on how many references to Wakefield there are? Seven minutes in for the first mention of Wakefield! Then there were two within a minute. "I got me own star in the pavement outside a bank in Wakefield" (or something like)!!!!!

I thought it was going to be Renaissance's Northern Lights Bjork was a bit left field, but Jane was showing her inner rock chick. My quote of the week though was "I don't do churches, when I go in one, I always end up getting married"!!!

I have to say I feel Jane is a little out of her depth in Asia, probably too far from Wakefeildmfor her.

Wrong Robadog, it's her "naïve" presentation style. She should be on the geography curriculum of every school in this country. As for "dongs", that too is her naivety, she is sooo easily led. The woman is an inspiration.

I agree she is no Judith Chalmers but her relaxed and comic style more than make up for it.

This week I'm being taken up the Mississippi - that's before the titles roll!!! It was a good start, but I thought Jane was a little restrained on the innuendo front this week , unless I missed something. I wonder if that was because her American fellow travellers and the cruise staff , wouldn’t appreciate it?

Definitely my least favourite episode - especially her constant gushing over all of the buildings built by slaves and stylings that are so evocative of slavery. Not to mention that the majority of people she met in lower-paid jobs were black and higher-paid jobs were white. Something about it didn't sit right with me. Was gutted she didn't do an Elvis song at Graceland!

Indeed. Let's just say, to keep the innuendo quota up, that this week Jane left a bad taste in my mouth!

Yes, the award winning Dame Jane is back on our screens tonight.
In the opening episode, Wakefield's most famous daughter visits the land down under, the land of wonder.

It was good to have Bafta winner Jane back on a Friday. Enjoyed the programme and Jane has such an ability to present in a natural and funny way. Lovely to see the different destinations too.
