Saw a brief video of the stage on Instagram yesterday or the day before and the stage looked very high. No indication if the cheap seats would be restricted views much.

I just listened to some of the videos on you tube and although a good cast I can't say i'll be forking out for a ticket. Didn't like the music.

I've just had a listen of the two tracks released on YouTube and I reallly like the sound and vibe of the score. Quite a jazzy vibe, very sexy too and both Frances and Victoria sound amazing. Do we just accept that Victoria is one of the best we have now?

Well, I'm a Frances fan to the end too. The pairing is irresistible. Many people said the same when I made a 'brief appearance' with Frances when she performed her one woman show, Beneath The Dress at the Menier five years ago... Like you, a Frances fan from the beginning, I have been lucky enough to catch her in nearly everything she's done. I was sitting on the front row at the Menier that night, when she came up to me mid-song, snatched my wine and took a gulp! She then handed my glass to my partner, and dragged me onto the stage. I suddenly felt sick. Not really sick, but that awful feeling when you know you've been picked on and forced into doing something against your will, knowing that everyone is looking at you... But then I thought, "You've been dragged up onto the stage by Frances f***ing Ruffelle for God's sake! Go for it!!!" So when she suddenly threw her legs around me and leaned back, I spun her round (faster than I think she thought I'd go!) and the rest is a complet blur...! All I know is we got lots of whoops and cheers and she told me afterwards how good I was when I got her to autograph my Children of Eden CD! Louise Gold and Peter Polycarpou, who were both in the audience, asked how long we had rehearsed (how kind of them!) although Arlene Phillips, who was also present, declined to comment...! The cow! (I did like Victoria Hamilton-Barritt in A Chorus Line but she ain't up there with Frances for me. Not yet anyway!)

Haha. Frances jumped on me when she performed that same show at The Garrick. I, too, span her round. Little did I know there was a speaker hanging nearby which if I'd been an inch or two out could've ended disastrously. Thankfully it didn't and the show went on brilliantly. Still shiver when I think what could've happened though.

I'm going on Wednesday.
I might sing Frankie Ruffle's Eurovision entry to her during the quiet moments. I think she'll really like that.

Just been. In good shape for first show. It's pretty wild! Run time 2h 25 but 1st half 1h 10. Stage is not high (stomach level for row A) and those cheap side seats are not blocked by any set (except a bed occasionally). However, rows A and B are in a splash zone. I had a gin beforehand - appropriate.

How was Donna McKechnie? How big is her role? She was very good. Important, but not lead, role as the has-been performer with quite a range of emotions.

Splash zone? Hopefully to do with the bathtubs of gin! Can't wait to see this next week. Big fan of Victoria HB and Simon Thomas. Plus, will be great to see John Owen Jones sing something other than Valjean or The Phantom!

At the first preview tonight, having seen and loved it on Broadway. Had forgotten how frenetic the first act was, not helped tonight by some sound problems. Friends who were new to it were unimpressed (probably due to the sound) but the ret of us were bowled over! Second act was much stronger.
Performances from all the leads were superb. Such a pleasure to finally see Donna M!!

I'd love to have a bath in gin...
Very excited to hear JOJ sing ANYTHING else, I love the man but if I hear him sing 'Bring him Home' once more I'll be throwing loaves of bread at him.
