I think they're taking the "pure imagination" idea a little too far.

Why is Willy Wonka almost the size of the factory?

How do you add photos? I've got images from all the sets of Charlie on Broadway...

Read on BW forum... "There was a little girl sitting next to me, probably about six or seven, who kept asking her Mom why the squirrels tore apart Veruca and killed her and started crying."

That girl sounds really annoying. If she was four, I'd be okay with her reaction. But I was already watching the exorcist at 7.

Read on BW forum... "There was a little girl sitting next to me, probably about six or seven, who kept asking her Mom why the squirrels tore apart Veruca and killed her and started crying." It's a lesson to little girls (probably like her) to not be bratty and entitled.

That is not how you present material to young impressionable children.

This guy on YouTube has uploaded recordings of some of the songs from Broadway among his many recordings from London. www.youtube.com/channel/UCq1lYU_HzGBWc46cT4_0_Xg/videosThe Broadway songs include the new Glass Elevator song "The View From Here", the new Mrs. Teevee song "What Could Possibly Go Wrong?" and some of the songs from the London production (which have mostly been re-worked) "More of Him To Love", "Strike It, Reverse It!" "Pure Imagination", "Auf Weidersehn Augustus Gloop" and "Veruca's Nutcracker Sweet".

Why are they trying to pull this crap as a good design?!

I have photos of all the other designs but I don't know how to upload. Either way they are all dreadful. It has a good advance so I doubt I will close this summer. I personally just think in the style of Love Never Dies someone somewhere will get it right one day! Such a shame though neither London or Broadway hit the nail on the head...

If you go to imgur.com you can upload each picture. Then on the right it gives you a link with the word 'Copy'. Click that and it copies the link for the image. Reply on here and press CTRL + V or right click and click paste. Repeat for as many images as you have.

Fixed it for you, westendwendy: Question: Why are there more plants in the previous picture? Has the set changed since then?

Judging by the presence of what looks like a Stage Manager in the second picture, I'd assume it was taken during tech rehearsals. The first picture was taken during a show.

The set looks more like a boring version of Curious Incident...

heck that's looks economical. Do you think they are treating every location as represented by a small room.

Looks like they kept the paper aeroplane effect, but killed the song it was originally from.

The trailer does make it seem better but the pictures of the set taken during the show shock me as do the decisions by the director (making Veruca Russian, adults as children etc). Hope he isn't the Uk tour director and we get the Original London Production (seems unlikely as it is Sam Mendes' version now)

I think they can do wonders with trailers with a quick zoom here and there, fast cuts and clever fast pace editing. For all we know they could have captured only the wow moments (and nothing was wow about what they've captured so far).
Has Jack O'Brian directed anything successful/good? Catch Me If You can seemed very misdirected from what I've read..This seems like utter pants, and we all know how bad Love Never Dies was.

Tom and Jerry and Willie wonka.....whoever thought that was a good idea. And terrible animation not even original enough not to reference the other movies. Yikes. The creativity of Hollywood or wherever this has come from!!!

Not to mention they've shot alot of it from a low angle, shooting up, to give the perception of size. Making the set appear bigger than it is.
